The 1.6 is under geared. 3000 rpm at 60 mph. I like mine, does what it needs to. Does use some oil as a know fault with this engine but not excessive. If only too be used around town no problem but constant motorway needs a bigger engine. I will upgrade to a 1.8 'B' sometime next year

The 2.5TD can take a while to fire if the fuel level is below quarter tank. They have an auxilery electric pump to sort of prime the main pump. That used to happen on mine
