Omega Electrical and Audio Help / lights problem
« on: 25 May 2008, 16:03:55 »
hi all, just come up with a small problem, when I switch on lights the dash lights  go    out, I had been towing a small trailer so thought the trailer electrics were faulty, but I only bought the lights board two weeks ago, now when the trailer is disconnected from car, the dash lights still go out when I swith on the lights, Is this just a small fuse problem or something else, any advice would be most welcome, thanks :-?

car been to garage to fix crank sensor today about £150 for new sensor and labour, I could not fix it myself as I am a poor mechanic and have no tools, jack etc and as I am going on holiday on Sunday I didnt have much choice, ... can anyone explain to me  ( a real layman) what a crank sensor does please , I asked the chappie at the garage and either he didnt know or explained it very badly it must be fairly important  as the car wouldnt start whenit malfunctioned and cost £150 to put right

You were right, drove to garage for fuel, then a mile to my daughters, had some tea , came out, exactly the same,   I will ring Vauxhall garage in the morning as I have no vauxhall spares stockist nearby, and I dont think I could fit it as the mechanic had a jack and I havent and the car is pretty low,  the mechanic could not fint the top connection, he doesnt repair many omegas.......

Omega General Help / Re: another oil leak?
« on: 02 April 2011, 09:44:16 »
Daz The work you done is perfect, there is no trace of oil there, as I said if there is one it seems to be at the back of the engine this U bar seems to have some oil on it but it could have been there ages, also there is some on the tray at the front but again it could have been there a long while and I wouldnt think it would get hot enough to smell,

Omega General Help / another oil leak?
« on: 01 April 2011, 19:51:58 »
Daz  sorted out my oil leak, (cam covers however the wife still smells oil and I suppose I can too, there is no sign of oil on the drive service and I had a look as best I could underneath and there is a U shaped bar running acrossed the back of the engine which looks a bit shiny and wet, could this be an oil leak/ and if so where would you think it is coming from...... also where is the clyinder which holds the auto gear box liquid placed, I could check this to see if needs topping up... please dont say I have to get under........
