Omega General Help / Irmscher side skirt clips
« on: 20 September 2014, 19:17:00 »
Just had a passenger tred on my side skirt and break some of the white plastic clips that hold the skirt on and its now nicley bowing away from the sill. :-(
Does anyone know if the clips for the Irmsher skirts are the same as the stock ones usualy fitted. Iguess if the answers yes its a trip to GM.

Omega Gallery / Finally finished upgrading the stereo
« on: 13 August 2014, 20:56:05 »
Been a long time doing this with many different components being put in and taken out to get a good SQ system but keeping the original head unit and the boot usable as its the everyday family car.

I know its no show piece but it does sound really quite nice now. bar the odd rattle at certain frequencies that I just cant seem to stop without taking drastic measures.

Kit comprises of:

Sound deadening in doors parcel shelf and boot

0 AWG and 4 AWG power cabling

Audiocontrol LC7 to enable me to keep head unit but still run RCA's to amp

Front and rear Genesis A16 Audiophile components. (had to make adapters to get them in front doors)

Genesis quad mono amp running components

2 X Soundstream rubicon SQ 10" subs

Genesis monoblock running subs

Lightning audio capacitor just to help smooth power a bit.

All wired with QED silver anniversary speaker cable.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Central locking playing up.
« on: 27 December 2012, 17:26:49 »
Hi All

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. Got a strange issue with my central locking. every time i unlock the car using the remote it locks itself again straight away... I have narrowed the problem down to the drivers door as using the key in the lock it stops doing it. Just wondering if this is a symptom of the micro switch failure in the motor or if its likely to be a sticking rod to the door pin as it doesn't seem to go all the way up when it unlocks. I can pull the pin up about 2mm by hand when its unlocked..

Thanks in advance for any help. :)

Omega General Help / Irmscher wheels damaged by pot hole
« on: 28 October 2012, 12:56:47 »
Another question just to get opinons really.  About two months ago I hit a really deep pot hole quite hard.. The sort of one that makes you actualy say Ouch! out loud.
All seemed fine but I didnt actualy check the wheel by removing from the car but on just a visual inspection all seemed good.  Anyway to cut to the chase the wheel has just cracked on the inside lip bit you cant see when on the car. its only a small dent too.
I am struggling to find an 18 x 9j replacement as I guess most are 8J for all the front wheel drive Vauxhall's.
What are peoples opinions on getting it welded by a professional??

Thanks in advance :y

Omega General Help / Strange buzzing sound from engine bay
« on: 28 October 2012, 06:59:57 »
Hi All.

Not been on here for a while but have a question that someone may be able to help with.
I have noticed that when I first get in the car and turn the ignition on but not turn the engine on I get a strange noise. It sounds like an electric motor running but has a clicking sound to it. It runs for quite a while even after you start the car? Only two guesses I have is its a vacum pump if it even has one or its a headlight adjuster motor that is broken in some way. It seems to be coming from the offside front of the bay.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Couple of niggles with the new car
« on: 09 February 2011, 09:09:34 »
Hi All.

Having a few niggles with the car and after some advice.
1. My extenal temp sensor is up the spout and is reading 30 degrees C... (I wish) :P. I think i read on here that its in the front wheel arch. just woundered if their where any more specifics to which side and roughly where? Also is it common?

2. My boot release switch in the car is not working but the light comes on when i open it with the key fob?  Just woundering if this is common and likley to be a simple switch change?

3. The heater in the car seems to be alot cooler than the temp the climate is set to. woundering if this could be related to the external temp problem?

Thanks people for any help :y

Omega Gallery / The daily hack
« on: 14 February 2011, 09:19:51 »
Got this beast at christmas
Just thought i would post some pics before i start detailing it when the weather gets better.
It has a full main dealer history and been maintained regardless.
Not sure what these are worth but I feel i may have got a bargain at £1500.
The paint work is quite good but being a dark blue it shows up alot of swerls so i am hoping to correct them as i am an amature detailer.

look forward to comments good and bad :y

General Car Chat / Bumped my new car
« on: 16 March 2011, 10:48:30 »
Last week I reversed into another car. No damage to the jeep i hit but mine came off worse :(  Smashed rear light. The panel below the light pushed in and stress cracks to the rear bumper :'(
So very anoyed with myself. Not an excuse but in my defence it was late, i was tired and I was boxed in by cars parked all around me. Must pay more attention ::)
