Omega General Help / Aircon issue
« on: 23 July 2014, 12:40:30 »
2 weeks ago I've fitted a new aircon pump, new condensor and new dryer. After that it was pressure tested with nitrogen and afterwards vaccuum tested and filled up including new oil for the pump.

At 25C outside temps it's working fine, any higher it lacks cooling performance. It turns out the lowest temps out of the vents is 10C.

What also draws my attention, is a frequent sound coming from behind the dashboard. It sounds like a vaccuum is releasing some pressure. After searching through the forum my idea is this might be the expansion valve. Anyone who has an idea if this is a vaccuum issue or a faulty valve?

Admin, could you please move my post to the right section?

I am looking for a facelift rear Irmscher bumper, preferably the version with one hole for the double left exhaust instead of the duplex model. Does anyone have or know of one available?

Omega General Help / Interior heating issue
« on: 22 November 2013, 11:28:39 »
Hi folks,

I am having an issue with my interior heating for over a year now, hoping to get some input on how possibly to solve this.

Subject: Omega 3.0 Facelift from 2000.

Bought this one almost 4 yrs ago with 50k miles on it. Current milage 105k. At the first winter I've had a Webasto Parking Heater installed which was working like a charm for 2 years/winters.

Last winter my head gaskets were replaced and after that operation the interior temperature could not get nicely warm anymore with outside temps sub zero. With ECC on HI the output air does not reach a very hot temperature. I noticed this occurs after driving on steady speeds (I travel most of the route to work over a 55MPH road). When I speed up a bit making the engine rev a bit more (to about 3.500-4.000rpm) you can feel a temporary flow of much warmer air comming into the interior. Back to cruising speed it cools down again.

Popped off the vacuum from the HBV, didn't help.

ECC is calibrated again with Tech II, temp sensors were reporting correct values when testing indoors (garage). Didn't help. No errror codes from ECC. Also tried a brand new ECC, again completely calibrated and set up right, no luck.

Since then the Thermostat is renewed (OEM) and the Parking Heater is also disconnected as we found out this did make the air temp a bit hotter. As I knew my Heat Exchanger was leaking a bit I planned to replace it this summer. Now that is done (with OEM part) and the first cold days kick in, I still experience the same problem.

Yesterday I was testing with the manual output settings in the ECC. When I set it on top and middle (foot channel off) the air is more warm then when I set top and foot channel (middle off). Left and right are equally warm, central vents blow cold air.

I am now planning to redo the hoses leading from the secondary waterpump (which is now placed higher than originally as at its normal spot now the Parking Heater is located) to the Webasto to the interior. There are several 90degree turns and the total lengt of the hose has been increased due to the parking heater. Could this be of any influence? Would sound strange to me as the system has been functionating fine for 2 years in the same setup.

Any thoughts and input would be appreciated!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Dead Lambda sensor
« on: 19 April 2009, 21:27:20 »
As it says.. I got a dead Lambda sensor. It will be replaced in 2,5 weeks along with some other maintanance. So there is no problem :)

The question I have is: will it make the motor management go into safe mode after a while?

I'm not planning to use the car much until the sensor is gonna be replaced, because I know it's not good for the cat and fuel consumption, but next week I have to cover about 150 miles. Mostly highway.

Car we're talking about is a '99 B1 2.0 16V.

I'm allready enjoying this forum for some months. Now I thought it was time for a little introduction after all the lurking   [smiley=tongue.gif]

I'm Jacco, 23 years old, from The Netherlands. Driving a late 1999 2.0 16V Omega for about a year now. Previously owned by my dad for 5 years.

One of the first pics taken after I got the car:

Then the modding began, lots of cleaning included, which resulted in the car as it now:

Moderators, could you please move this to the wanted section? Thanks. :)

I'm after a complete Bose loom for my Facelift saloon. Looking for one from the radio (2015) to the amp in the trunk. I allready have the complete speakers.

Does anyone have one laying around?

Grtz,

Hi all,

Does anyone happen to have an unused cable to install a CID + NCDR radio in my '99 B1? I've got all parts except for the cable. Thought I've got my hands on one at Ebay, but the seller went radiosilent after I did the payment. :( Good thing I used Paypal.

So, if someone has this cable, or know where to get one.. I'd be really happy to know.

Cheers!
