Omega General Help / Re: Super Washer Jets
« on: 24 January 2009, 22:17:11 »
Yeah, even worse is when someones knicked your washer off one headlight. They're impossible to replace and I use about 2.5 litres a week. I've taken to making up a rather weaker mix than usual washer reservoir.

Omega General Help / Re: TC and ABS lights
« on: 24 January 2009, 22:19:40 »
This sounds like something that happened to me recently. It gradually gets worse then the lights end up on permanently. See thread

Vauxhall eventually cured the problem. I got a new ECU from them for £300 and was £350 labour. They warned me that if the lights came on again it would probably be the ABS unit which is £1300 (part only) OUCH!!

This is good news. I've got the car booked in on Thursday at my local vx, so I'll do as you suggest and find the number. The car is a year 2000 (V) 2.5 V6 Elite. VIN 69X1167063 Engine No 08392509 in case you have anything similar. We've also a non working drivers electric leather seat if you have a spare. Thanks MC.

Guys, guys, thanks a lot for the info. I will try to get the number off the unit. Problem is that I'm not mechanically minded and will probably have to go to vx even to get it fixed with a 2nd hand unit. No-one else in my neck of the woods is prepared to look at it. Since I can buy another Elite for a couple of grand it's hardly worth shelling out best part of 1K to fix this one is it?

Omega General Help / ABS TC lights on - No Speedo No Cruise Any Idea?
« on: 15 November 2008, 20:41:23 »
I'm sure I read someone else had this problem but I can't find it. My Omega Elite has started to show ABS and TC lights after about 10 miles. At the same time the Speedometer needle flicks to O and the miles stop clocking up. The cruise control stops working and the power steering seems to stop working too. My Vauxhall dealer initially couldn't find the fault because the lights go off when the car is restarted and everything goes back to normal. However 10 miles or so later it all kicks off again. I have had a suggestion that it's an ECU problem but also that it could be ABS Hydraulic issue (£1300 + to fix) HELP ! ! ! !

Omega General Help / Re: My Electric Seat Is Stuck!! Help
« on: 30 August 2006, 20:58:34 »
I had this problem - discovered 2 x £1 coins had fallen out of a pocket and stuck in the runners preventing the seat from moving. It was awkward getting them out, couldn't see them at first but eventually managed to ping them out with a long screwdriver. Best check carefully before dismantling further. :P

This is the place for Omegas alright - shame I had to go to Birmingham to find my latest one. Took the train down - 7 hours, drove the Elite home - 7 hours, pretty good eh and 30 mpg all the way.
