U.S. oil prices
« on: 20 April 2020, 21:59:38 »

Reading on the text service of the BBC that the price of West Texas Intermediate is a minus figure now. -$37. Worlds gone mad, they are having to pay people to take it away. :o

It appears that supply is now greater than demand, and they've run out of storage capacity for the excess supply. Therefore they're having to pay people to take it off their hands.

The price you are seeing was for may delivery from the US, not for Brent crude which Europe trade in that's at $27, today, if you had a Tanker peddle over to the US and technically they would pay you to fill it up, but that offer finished today.. >:(

I have heard this morning on the BBC from a correspondent researching what is happening with the oil situation, that it is unlikely to make much difference to our prices.  Yes they have come down to an average of £1.10 per litre, but most of that price is not for the petrol.

I think we all know about the fuel duty and VAT on the juice, but this guy reitterated that just over 12p per litre  is in respect of the cost of the oil.

So there appears there will be no windfall for us, and with the Government needing to eventually replace the national funds spent over the Virus thing................................. ::) ::)

Extinction rebellion Midlands branch recent publicity poster stated " HUMANITY IS THE DISEASE. COVID 19 IS THE CURE".
Makes you want to sign up immediately to such a caring common sense organisation, doesn't it.

It's the only thing I really miss my journey to work in the Range Rover 55 mile round trip in luxury listening to my music.
