Is my OBDII bozwonk.....
« on: 19 September 2018, 13:19:55 »

.....or am I doing something wrong? The eml light keeps coming on and going off at random intervals, and Cataclean didn't put it out. Luckily, the MOT tester didn't comment on it, but I would like to clear it. I tested with an OBD code reader and it declared that there were no codes found, despite my doing the Pedal Trick and finding Code 0430.
I was hoping that the code reader would clear any codes, but if it cannot even detect codes, is the feader 'dangle berries'ed or am I at fault?

Can you run the code reader on a GM specific setting then on a generic OBDII setting and see if there is a difference. I also found this on the old site which may be of value.

Thanks AJS; I didn't know there were different settings - none show up on my Reader.
I've read about moving the sensor on here before, but I cannot weld - nor crawl under cars - so that would be a job for Serek.
I just wanted to clear the code and put that irritating light out!

Yes, I would defimitely ask Serek to do it - if it isn't too dear!
Now that I have a shiny new MOT, I need to see Serek about a full service soon. I wonder if I could combine it with the hoofland curry feast?

If the EML is going out on its own it will probably show in Stored Codes.  ;)

Yes Zirk, it extinguishes without any input from me, but my code reader cannot find any codes, stored or otherwise - which nis why I wondered if it was bozwonk?

Hi Albs and thank you, that sounds like a great idea. I am likely to be going to the boot sale at Boreham on Sunday, so after that I could come to see you - some time after 10? Remind me where you work, please.
