I found an interesting picture of a C18XE
It seems to have 2 exhaust cams, Im sure that the X20XER had the same
Is this what gives the extra power like the g cams in a 2.5?
Obviously with the egr capped off

Omega General Help / Waterproofing PNP switch

Well just after nearly a year with the current gls2000 I need to sort the selector switch again.
When I bought it the selector lights would all light up if you jiggled the selector. So I jacked it up and removed the pnp switch
Opened it up and it was full of a waxy substance, cleaned it out and refitted then all was well till now.
I think its needs cleaning again but I would like to waterproof the tracks or tje whole think
Is dielectic grease waterproof?

Is there any way to mod the cam cover like the 20xe to stop it breathing in the sump contents and filling the inlet mani with oil?
Or is it a case of putting a discreet catch tank?
Can holes be drilled in the chamber where the sump breather is supposed to return the oil vapours?

I just recieved this morning probably the oldest best deal ever from ebay, I think early 90s?
It says its not for the 3.0 carlton or the 24v senator, did those have vented rears?
for a massive £9 I got

Omega General Help / Dodgy head gasket

I have stripped the head from the second user xev.
The head gasket doesnt look right, the water channals dont pass through
Ill get a pic up when photobucket is working

Omega General Help / Brake pull the 2nd

I have just had the wishbones and the tracking done,
Now the brakes are still pulling to the right, I have been under the car and greased the sliding pins which had the sticky black stuff on, Now I'm left with sticking pistons, both front discs are shiney even after being off the road for 4 months
The problem I have is, if I stomp the brake with no hands on the wheel while moving on tick over the wheel will sharply twitch to the right, If I did it enough I think it would turn in the road.
Could the NSF caliper be the culprit?

Omega General Help / Low speed wobble

Hey
Since I have had the saloon, it has had a slight wobble
and can only be felt going less than 25mph, I really felt it the other day after I took my dad out for his birthday and we had a bite to eat. We had a short journey home but was in traffic and it really churned my stomach
what could it be?

As I have failed to sell the mig, I have decided to fix it.
I look at it every morning and I dont want to scrap its too good and everything works.
what are my options when it comes to fitting the propper lump in (X25XE)?
I can get another xev quite easily and I will if its not worth the swap

Cars for Sale & wanted / FS: 2.0 GLS Saloon

Up for sale is my 2.0 GLS in oyster.
Its an auto well runs well. bodywork is generally good with minimal bubbling, both rear arches and a spot on the rear passenger door
The interior is grey and black velour again in good condition for its age
Its pretty much standard, I fitted 8.5mm ht leads, polish ulter sport exhaust and cruise from a vectra v6. and mesh grill alfo fitted a pipercross panel.
it has mot till may and will need new wishones but is still drivable
I has 2 sheared exhaust studs on cylinder one, so its noisey on start up for less than 5 mins then it fine
comes with a towbar and full electrics, 15" alloys and near enough a full service history
looking for £450

A well used term, but when braking over 40 the car pulles to the left and the steer hoop goes to the right
The problem shows itself in the last month. The brakes are fine although its due new boots unless I get the wheel spacers.
I hope its either the idler or the wishbones and the geometry is sort of straight, but I was looking into getting it done aswel
