Sorry for all the questions. Can someone tell me if a 2001 2.2 Omega has a fuel check valve. The reason I ask is that when I start the car in the morning,or I leave it for a few days it seems as if the car has run out of petrol. (it has a 1/4 tank of petrol) It takes a while to start causing a Camshaft sensor error code, (I have replaced Cam and Crankshaft sensors, with genuine one done plugs and coil pack also genuine. Once the car is running it goes great. I can turn the car off then restart it without any problems.

There's a vacuum regulated pressure regulator on the fuel rail ;)

I had a similar problem on my 2.5. Fuel line was not holding pressure overnight, but no sign of a fuel leak. I eventually traced it to the hose clips above the pump being jublilee clips, not spring clips. Obviously the pump had been changed. The cure was to replace the jubilee clips with spring clips.

Is this the valve, I have got a fuel pressure guage to check for pressure and if bleed down of fuel. If I disconnect what I assume is the clear vacuum pipe what should I see on the fuel pressure gauge, I will only do it for a few seconds. Would doing this give me a idea if it is working or not?
Not sure if this might apply, found it on TIS the car sits on the side of the road and it is a reasonable camber where the road meets the pavement, if that makes sense. The petrol gauge on mine and the misses' don't show correct fuel in the tank, when parked up.
Poor starting. Engine does not start in sloping position and low fuel level in fuel tank.. (The fuel gauge when level is showing 20)
Cause: New fuel pump EKP 13.5 (turbine pump) cannot build up pressure, in case of no fuel available to suck in swirl pot.
Production: Following VIN range was affected: Omega B: Rüsselsheim, from W0L0VBM69X1093137 up to W0L0VBF3511003864

Will check the pipes Terry Paget. It's annoying because it is a great car when running.

Put more fuel in it then ::)

Estates are intolerant of low fuel levels at the best of times - mine cranks over for more turns than normal on less than a quarter of a tank. Perhaps your fuel pump is weak?

Be very aware that if your getting a cam sensor code on a 2.2 then the cam sensor is getting a bit tired (and will impact the starting).
The rail pressure will rise very quickly and would not impact starting significantly.

Just changed cam and crankshaft sensor(with genuine), upon recommendation from Doctor Gollum. Also ignition coil and plugs, no oil in plug wells.
It's a learning curve with this engine, my old 1995 ones were V6 and no where near as stroppy as this, nor is my wifes 1995 2.0 estate. So would the fact that it is showing just above 1/4 of a tank cause problems such as sounding like no petrol when trying to start?

Never had any starting issues on my old 2.2, it ran 95% of the time on just a tenner worth or less petrol in the tank, thanks to running on LPG just after startup.
What codes did you have before? Cam Sensor was the only sensor that gave me issues over 100k miles in my 2.2.

Genuine as in from a GM dealer or genuine from ebay ?

Local dealer, don't get sensors off ebay. Anything that doesn't affect running, for example airfilter, plugs etc. I use ebay. Learnt this from having a Jeep that didn't like aftermarket sensors.

check the fuel line in the tank from the pump, they can split or crack up this will give you low pressure and would just leak back into the take with no leakes of fuel anywhere. there is 2 rubber pipes in the tank that feed to the top pipe then to the filter and so on.

I ran my car back home one night with range = zero ::)
Dunno how much fuel was left in there :) when I added 5 litres the following mornin.
She started no problem & i`ve only ever encountered starting problems when the cam sensor failed.

Tank is a different shape with the pump mounted nearer the centre...
