Hi again,

A few weeks ago I noticed that I can't close the sunroof with the remote. It was always working and only recently noticed it wasn't working.

We did have a lot of rain in the last couple of months. Could this be related?

Hi all,

In the past I have had issues changing time manully as if you left it for a period of time, time was off by a few minutes. The only way for me to change time manually was to disconnect the battery for 20 minutes or so. I had to do this a couple of weeks ago and I was able to update time, but for some reason the date stays at 21/05/2000 and can't change it. When I try to adjust it, as soon as I press OK, I can see the date resets itself to 5/2000...

The date does change itself, i.e., it will change to 22/05/2000 tomorrow etc.

What else can I do? Is there any way to reset it? i.e., the radio stations always stay on the list. Maybe there's a "factory reset" option somewhere?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Omega General Help / What is this hose? Y32SE

Hi all,

After I replaced the rocker cover gaskets yesterday, I'm putting my Y32SE back together, however, I don't remember unplugging this particular hose. The end marked with orange arrow looks like it was never plugged in to anything, AND I found a dead spider inside it. The picture was taken before I took it all off and to me it looks like it was just laying there

Is this some kind of air con exhaust pipe or something? Do I just leave it like that?

Omega General Help / Y32SE cylinder heads gaskets & cranshaft - I need torque settings and advice

Hi all,

It's been a while, and I still drive my lovely Omega

, it has 60k miles on the clock, but it looks like it needs new gaskets all over.
It leaks oil from somewhere, definitely from rocker covers and possibly from the front crankshaft seal. It's more intense since I used the engine flush recently when I was changing oil. I also get some mayonnaise so the head gaskets could also be replaced.

Do you have any hints and advice for me before I start?

I'll be replacing the bolts, and I'd need to know the correct torque settings for those. I'd appreciate if somebody could tell me what the settings are for all bolts I need to touch.

I'm also not sure about the cranshaft seal. How difficult is it to replace the seal?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi all and happy new year.

I've recently been having problems with my omega. Since I used that weird eco 95 octane petrol in Germany my engine management light kept coming on since I'm back in UK.

Since august I've been disconnecting the battery to remove the engine light, maybe 3-4 times all together. Just before xmas the engine stopped running correctly and sounds like only half of the cylinders are working.

General Car Chat / Remote Engine Start... any opinions?

Hello,

as you know it's cold in the morning now and I've always wanted my car to be warm before I get in.

Did anyone try anything like this? Immobiliser needs to be bypassed, right? Someone recommended that I get it done properly by getting a proper alarm system...

What do you think?

Omega General Help / Y32SE Some rattling noise, please help me identify it :P [video]

Hi everyone,

I am about to replace the cambelt and a water pump, but there's another noise that I can't identify and I was wondering if anybody here can recognize this kind of rattling noise?

I can only hear this rattling noise when the engine is cold, and actually cold, like overnight cold.

If the engine is warm enough during the daylight, without driving, I can't hear it either so only when the engine is really cold.

The water pump is getting replaced along with the cambelt very soon. The tensioner bearing will be greased (or replaced), but what about the X rattling noise?

I don't need to control nokia phone on the CID screen, I just want to be able connect my phone over the bluetooth and answer the phone-call.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / NCDC 2015 and built-in nokia phone

Hi there,

In my new omega I have NCDC 2015 with built-in nokia phone like on pictures below

and for some reason my t-mobile SIM card is not recognized or can't find any network. This nokia phone operates only in 900mhz networks, maybe that's why, and I only can find vodafone network.

Anyway, I found something like this Connects2-BTAV01-Bluetooth-Interface-for-A2DP
Do you think I could replace that hidden nokia box with the above unit? Or maybe you have some other ideas. I don't want to use any additional devices, I wan't my phone to be fully (well, almost) integrated with my factory radio, so when I've got incoming phone call the music will cut off.

So, there is a built-in microphone somewhre in my car and i think that it is connected to this nokia box, so possibly I might to replace that with something with mic-in.

This is the the socket in my radio NCDC 2015 unit

At the moment I can control nokia-phone with the NCDC 2015 unit and on CID screen info, but i don't need that, I just want to make and receive calls. Any ideas?

Hi there,

long time no see

I have no probs with my omega, but I need to change oil in my auto box. I know how to do it, but I don't have a pit and no facilities.

Do you know how much the vauxhall garage charges for this? What's the "labour time" according to their... documentation?

...or do you think I can manage without a pit?

Omega General Help / Can't start Y32SE (ignition ok and on, battery ok)

Hi there,
I have a problem. This morning I couldn't start the engine in my omega. All lights are coming up, battery is fine, but when I turn the key to start the engine - nothing is happening like it has something to do with the immobilizer.
I've never had that problem before, so I've disconnectged the battery for few minutes, but it didn't help so I've left the battery disconnected till I get back from work.
I don't know otherwise.

Do you guys have any ideas of what could go wrong?

Omega General Help / Tinted windows - not with tint film (?)

Hi there,
I'd like to tint my windows, but not with a tint film, but in a proffesional way. Don't know what you call it (please tell me), but I don't want air on the edges of the windows, where the black dots are. Hope you know what I mean

Who does it in the UK, preferably South-East, how long does it take and how much would that cost me?
