If scrapping a car say with two catalitic converters can they be removed and scrapped separately and then scrap the car or will it be refused at the yard

Can somebody help with this one please, my friend parked up volvo 240 1993 when trying to re-start engine would not even turn over. Fitted fully charged battery dash lights come on but still no action, is it starter motor or something electrical thanks

Decided to put the Triumph Toledo back on the road in time for spring shows-went on go compare and got insurance for £77 thats got to be a record hasn't it? It also includes legal cover and the wife driving!

Can someone help with this one please, i tried to start a car using leads from my van today with little success,connected red to red and then neg.(good bat) to point on dead car near engine block. I'm using good quality leads but they just got hot (with some smoke)so i had to abandon it. The dead cars bat. was completely dead not even a dashboard light flicker.Any ideas?

I know its like killing one of our own but did anyone else attend the event of the year at Foxhall stadium Ipswich to see two saloons and one estate Omega perform well at the World banger final,the estate lasted particularly well , the meeting was eventually won by a MK1 Granada with a very fast engine fitted! I have a picture of one of the saloons i'll post it later(if it doesn't offend!)

Omega General Help / sunroof

My sunroof surround has become scabby with paint coming off so i've decided to remove glass/surround panel, i read "how to"which is helpful but can someone tell me how to remove the two plastic covers either side(consealing the bolts) without damaging them,they seem tight?thanks for any help

Omega General Help / headlight replacement

Finally got around to replacing headlight units on my facelift the original ones had gone beyond cleaning. I read all the advice on here regarding the xenon bulbs(to be honest some of it nearly put me off the job!)so i removed battery the day before and checked with volt stick when swapping bulbs and came to no harm.Therefore just want to thank all of you who helped, so satisfying doing jobs especially when they go well.Would also like to thank Steve from omegaspareparts for supplying units, he gave good OOF discount and really helpful a true Omega God!

Regarding changing the dipped xenon bulb the car handbook says only by main dealer surely if i disconnect battery i'll be safe?Can someone confirm this please or explain where the danger is , thank you

Hello fellow omega colleagues, whilst on our holiday of a lifetime in New York, i came across this wonderful machine on Broadway. First thoughts were it was a straight forward omega, on closer inspection it turned out to be a Cadillac Catera. I just thought you would all be interested... has anyone seen one or know anything about them? Here are some pictures: (yes i did take my OOF t-shirt abroad - saddo)

Omega General Help / headlights help

The headlights on my 2002 elite were looking really dull, not so much yellowy more scratched fuzzy(hope you get my meaning.)
Thought about new ones until Andyc let me know the cost! Advised to clean with plastx which has worked to a degree  on nearside but o/s still looks dull and scratched.
I had a look on ebay and there seems to be aftermarket types but i dont know what i'm buying. Being an elite i presume they are xenon self leveling type but still not sure , i definitely need to replace drivers side. what advice can anyone give to ensure i get the right one any help appreciated.
