Took it to a garage to ask how much it would be to weld up the ventilated chassis rails etc. to be told it would cost £2-300 minimum.

Well it seems that the dealer thought it worth the bother and has had the 99 elite estate "repaired" and it now has an mot for another year.. but just how well was the work done??.

Far from a bad person Ron. it proves that you have more common sense than the knobs that run the asylum.

I've still got the contitech timing belt kit I bought for the 3.2. will it go straight onto a 2.5 or is there some subtle difference between the parts.

There's something wrong with the 99 elite estate on ebay for £1495 at the moment. check out its recent MOT results..

Well Jons switch arrived and I clipped it into the dash and guess what it popped just like the first one. can anyone else suggest where to look for the problem as I've already knackered two switches and its getting rather expensive.

I'll even help with the cull if you want as there's a house full of filth next door to me that really needs removing from the planet.

Should hopefully be sorted once the switch arrives.thanks Jon  :y

At least it didn't fail on big holes in the chassis rails and sills which mine certainly will when its MOT is up on the 12th december. so hopefully its a case of a good grinding and repaint and your car should be good for years to come..

My rear wiper is rather knackered too as it misses a spot on the screen. and yes I did replace the blade about 6 months back.
