Omega General Help / Re: Air con low pressure pipe hot
« on: 03 July 2018, 18:15:41 »
You can, but you'll need to remove the radiator and condenser in order to remove the fans...

 ;D

Not just the 2 fans behind grill, they have to come out backways towards engine? There is one fan in front of rad, 2 at grill side. I take it air con fans don't come out front ways?

Is it easy enough to access the condenser,  do I need to remove the fans only to get in to check it's clean?

Just removed the power sounder for peace of mind. I seen that someone had already unplugged the sounder but not the siren so perhaps was causing problems for previous owner.

Certainly the box "looks" ok but I don't know what it is like inside. It looks like it is sealed together so I think I would need to break it to get it open or at least prize the shell apart, which would potentially break the cover.

Disable the touchscreen, and see if that improves it - it might be ultra sensitive.  If that cures, then look for reducing sensitivity in driver.

There is touch point app thing that opens each time I start machine, I just closed it there and it seems ok.

I've just inherited a Packard Bell M3700 integrated desktop, basically a big screen with a computer inside. It has this on screen touchpad thing which I don't need and it sits quietly in the top corner of the screen. It also has this peculiar problem where the mouse is jumping about the screen, right clicking and doing weird stuff. It also seems to change the tabs and if I am typing the cursor just disappears as if it had clicked off the screen' it's happened about 8 times while typing this. It also seemed to refresh this page when I was typing this out so had to type all again.

I've tried virus/malware scan, done all the updates, checked another mouse, turned off all the usual guff that was running in the background and it is still doing it. I even tried running in safe mode but was still doing it. I am going to try running virus scan in safe mode as I had that before on another PC where the virus could hide itself from the scanner in normal windows mode.

In the meantime any other things I can check?

Cheers

G

Omega General Help / Re: Rear jacking and axle stand points
« on: 27 June 2018, 07:20:14 »
Block of wood between subframe bush bolt area and where rear chassis leg comes out from that area, jack up, then axle stand on rear sill jacking point. Doing that allows jack to be out the way enough to get axle stand on sill.

Getting back to the original point. Out of curiosity I have been out and had a look for the TPS on mine (assuming in the region of front of plenum) but cant find it !  ??? :-[

There is a plug on left side just under and to the left of bellows air intake bit, i think that's where it resides. My plug securing clip was broke off when i done TB so had to secure plug with tie wrap as it was actually causing running problems and codes

Biggest problem with the dealers on there, was regularly the parts had been sold, and the advert was months out of date.

Yeah i noticed that with quite a few bits, would make sense to link it to the national dealers stock so it was a bit more up to date.o

Boo hoo where we goning to get cheap dealer ex-stock now?

http://www.carpartsconnexion.com/

That'll be that damn PSA takeover probably! Have noticed a lot of parts suddenly becoming obsolete since that takeover - coincidence?

I had this on my 2.6 and it turned out clip holding plug onto throttle area was broke and the plug was drifting off causing intermittent connection and subsequent stalling. Just put a tie wrap round ot till i get round to splicing a new plug onto the loom.

New adjuster in drivers side and seems ok light level at that. Will be taking allen key socket and extension should it need adjusted a bit. Got new washer pump for 8 bucks from local factors after VX wanting 60+ and 5 day wait!

Have you made sure it's the washer pump that's fubar and not just the filter on it that's blocked?Sound like easy fixes as long as the headlight adjusters aren't broken/don't break.

Hlight adjusters are fooked, got spare light here in bits, otherwise ok except adjusters, I'm going to put the new adjusters in that and fling it in for MOT as tried adjusting the night and it's all over the shop, well everyway but up. Tested the pump supply and it's 12v and the pump isn't buzzing so defo that.

Just went through MOT there, everything fine apart from.....washer pump somehow gave up the ghost, never gave me issue except now, guess a pre-check of the silly things would have been pertinent!

Guy also said the O/S light is slightly low so I need to hope the adjuster moves it up a bit when I twiddle it round. I'll need to do that tonight when it's a bit darker and lights against wall to see if it is going up and also matching the other one somewhat.
