I'll be driving up and back the same day so very little if any booze for me.

I shall bring some nosh for the BBQ though, nom nom.... :P :y

Although I might potentially bring the battlebus, so we have some handtools onsite etc.
Bring your Omega TB
I'm bringing my omega, the boot of which has enough tools to strip and rebuild most cars/light commercials  :P
The more omegas we can get together, before they all rust away and are no more  ;D the better, photo opportunity  :-\

I can quite happily drag any Omegas home with Big Berta should they fall apart on site ;D

Hosting costs tend to scale exponentially with bandwidth requirements - at least if you want somewhere with an SLA worth a jot.. but yes, I wouldn't self-host anymore, even though maintaining secure networks is quite literally my job, I wouldn't want to entertain the risk of a DMZ with a webserver in it within my own walls
Segregated properly, anyone would have to exploit multiple devices to get into the internal network.  I'd argue that a traditional home setup is weaker, but just exploiting the shitty ISP routers ;)

Some recent work I have done backs up your argument.  Home routers are very easy to exploit with minimal equipment and using tools freely available on the net, scarily so.  Makes me glad I have my own setup.

Trust me, the more I work in the field of Information Assurance (the non-sexy word for Cyber Security) the more I realise that you don't need to ask a company to build a back door for their mates.  Those that make great hardware often make software as leaky as a cauldron and those who make great software often use 3rd party code/libraries which can great for efficency but bad for security.

Just had a look at that thread from ten years ago.

Where are they now?. Largecol , debs and so on.

I think Debs realised her intelligence was wasted here amoung us mere mortals.  If Ljay is still around I suspect Jimbob's nuts may be in a vice come this evening  :D

Yes, I must admit the fact that the Maybot is an expert in telecomms security is news to me. ::)

She is more likely to be heeding advice from the NCSC/GCHQ on this.  Their mindset is to follow a risk-managed approach.  Even if it so riddled with holes it resembles swiss cheese it can be considered acceptable so long as the risks are known and there is a mitigation plan, either in planned software rectifications or in the manner in which they are implemented, then it can be acceptable.

There have been reports on Twitter and LinkedIn of a super 'secret' Huawei vulnerability testing facility (with a banner outside for the public to see so I am not so sure how secret it really is) so I suspect that there has been a significant amount of assurance testing going on and that any equipment that is used in our 5G networks will have to go through the approval stages where it is torn to pieces by our boffins.

I prefer this pragmatic approach being taken rather than the protectionist approach oompa lumpa in a China shop.

Yorkshire tea?

Where exactly in Yorkshire is the huge tea plantation? ::)

There was a (mildly amusing) exchange between Yorkshire Tea and someone who protested their horror at the fact that Yorkshire Tea comes from India (something like "I WILL NEVER DRINK THIS AGAIN, IT'S NOT BRITISH!"), they ended it with something along the lines of "It actually all comes from a mine in Keighley." ;D

 ;D ;D

Not in French.  Bateau, Navire, Vaisseau, Porte-avions all masculin words.  The only exception is Chaloupe which is often used to describe a launch (small boat of a larger ship) or something small and flat-bottomed.

Make of that what you will. ::) ;D

People are obviously upset, otherwise we'd be talking about something much more important.

Coincidentally, the practice of using female names is thought to derive from not wanting to upset 'mother' nature, a Godess of Greek/Roman origin.  I can't remember if you were athiest or agnostic STEMO.

Most of "she's" are, in France, I've found.  :-* Below a certain age, at any rate. :-X

I must admit, given my experience of French women, I find that most French ladies have at least a little curve.  Some much more than others :P

Certainly a higer proportion than our English natives I find. :-X

Interesting, because I found the Ranger a fantastic drive for all of it's ~35k miles; yes, cart springs on the rear, but you can drive it like a hooligan and it's very rewarding to do so..

Surely the primary purpose of the Ranger is to move builder's rubble intimidate smaller cars in to practising correct lane discipline.

FTFY  :y

I can't believe that this is bothering people.  So a small change is made to balence things out a bit (which are still far too much in favour of men) boo frickin hoo.

There are more important problems in life, REAL PROBLEMS!  Such as making sure that when someone makes you a cup of tea that they dont make it piss weak.

Very well said Gaffers!! :y :y :y
I don't believe it's bothering people either. A ship is, and always has been, 'she'.
