General Discussion Area / Re: Escaped Chipmunk

Sorry to hear this
It's not knowing what happened that's the hardest thing. We had a Guinea pig that disappeared one day (used to happily roam around the garden when we were out there, would never stray) then one day he was off. I suspect a Fox probably had him

The sack's not big enough for me.
It's oooh, about cat sized, I'd say [smiley=evil.gif]

Knowing my luck, I'd have a cat like the moggie I have now. The bloody thing doesn't like going out
Ah, it's not just ours that's a total breakwit then.
Ours - sorry, Mrs. KW's seems to prefer to go out when it's persisting down with rain.
It's like a teenager in the morning trying to convince it to get up and stay in the kitchen so I can set the burglar alarm
I keep warning her - the canal's not that far away, I have a brick and a sack ready

Really sorry to hear this. No matter how careful you are with your car there's always some tw@ who'll make up for it
Anyway, glad you're all right. Could have been a lot worse. Remember you're not obliged to go to their "approved repairer" so get a couple of quotes. Doesn't sound like it'll ever be the same again eve if it were repaired though, TBH

QuoteThe Fifth Element for me?
Brilliant film
Oooh, yes. I remember watching the opera scene at a Hi-Fi show with about 40k's worth of Meridian Audio surround sound kit providing the tunes and a huge plasma screen and a load of Snell and Wilcox video gear doing the picture. Bearing in mind this was 10 years ago, long before talk of HD (well, not today's variety, anyway) it was pretty special at the time.
.. but for lasting appeal, can't beat a bit of Python. Every time I watch The Life Of Brian or The Holy Grail I nearly split my sides and I can't see me ever getting over that.

No, you've made valid points. Ironically, its usually the young lads with 2 stroke 125s I'm stopping for (they don't understand keeping plug(s) clean etc). There isn't the same comradery that existed between bikers 20yrs ago now.
He He. Reminds me. My father in law rides a Pan European. He stopped on the way over to us to help a lad with one of these 125cc hairdryers done up to look like a racing bike. Out of petrol. He goes and gets him a can of petrol from the garage, gets him on his way. Just as they part, an amusing conversation ensues.
125 owner: "I'll be off, then. Don't try to keep up."
Father in Law: "Erm, what, Lad?"
125 owner: "Well, that's a touring bike, innit. This is a racer"
Father in Law: "This is an 1100. That's a 125"
125 owner: "Yeah, but, this is well quick"
Father in Law: "OK. I'll give you a head start (snigger)"
400 yards down the road he passes the 125'er who had his chin on the petrol tank!
Someone got a lesson that bling doesn't make it go!

Just typical of the times in which we live. What the Police are seen to do is more important than whether it actually makes the country a nicer place to live.
I'm guessing they had to raid another pub and issue another prohibition order to meet their government targets and, in the absence of any leads, just picked a pub at random.

General Discussion Area / Re: Knobenders - do you watch
« on: 27 November 2007, 17:05:09 »
No from me. I can't imagine ever being bored enough to watch rubbish like that (meaning 90% of BBC output, not just Beastenders).
I heard someone on the radio talking about "all the requests" they're getting to put Eldorado back on too. Give me strength!
Oh, and the proportion of the licence fee they're not spending on making rubbish programs goes no re-inventing the streaming-over-the-internet video player about a decade after everyone else
If it weren't for the fact that Mrs. Kevin Wood would go spare, I'd do without a TV. Then again, she spends most of her time playing WOW. :-/

Make sure you get 4x5 ltr bottles, un-like someone, who end up with 20 ltr's all in 1 can/bx. Roll Eyes
What sort of numpty would do that?
.. and the semi is 10w40, Full synth is 5w30.

Even if it doesn't, the 20l tubs of semi-synth are almost as good value as 4 for 3 on the 5l, if a little unwieldy. Could buy 4 for 3 of the 20s, of course. Should keep you in oil for a while...

I wouldn't fancy trying to park in one of the marked bays in San Francisco
I once found myself in the same situation. Well, trying to pull away from a set of lights on one of the hills in some god-awful Buick with a push-button release pedal hand brake.
I think the natives have adopted the style of left foot braking but that's a dangerous habit if you ever drive something with the full driver involvement pack.

QuoteQuoteSo now we know what the default setting is, when these things go belly up you aint going no where.
I have a feeling the VAG ones still have a pair of hand brake cables between the calipers and the electric actuator. So next time... take a set of bolt cutters with you and if there's any trouble give it the snip!
Kevin
dont know why but jimbob springs to mind at this point
Is Jimbob's one manually operated or electric?
