General Discussion Area / ATF Additive's
« on: 13 February 2008, 16:29:58 »
Just ordered some ATF from the oilman  :y

Heard a rumour that you could / should also use an additive when changing ATF, anyone else heard this, or have any more details?

Cheers

General Discussion Area / Cheapo Tech2 Strikes again
« on: 11 February 2008, 07:57:01 »
Got called out yesterday, so had the laptop out, thought I'll check for codes on the meega's while its out.

Went out visiting friends later.....Bloody Airbag light came on, 1st time ever!   Must have known the laptop was ready!

Got home, plugged it in and read why the light was on - driver side connection or something, and reset it no problem!
Also showed an Air Idle Valve problem.

Plugged it into the CDX, and couple of old codes there too, the old immobiliser problem, and one left over from a wet coil pack.

In short, if you have the facilities (ie Decent laptop with serial port)  The I highly recommed spending the £20-30 on one, mine has more than paid for itself, a highly recommended addition to your toolkit.

Car tax due end of the month.
I go away to the lakes for a week on Saturday, so tax runs out while I'm away.
Went to get the MOT and Insurance out to go and buy it today...
No problem all in the folder with every car document I own....Ohh 'dangle berries' no its not, everything buy the mot :(
If its not in that folder, it could be anywhere :(

So what do I do...
I can search high and low tonight in the hope of finding it
I have printed off the proof of MOT from the motinfo website, I will try and blag the post office with this.
Or if all else fails, I will have to buy my tax online where you dont need your docs, and my only crime will be 'not displaying a valid tax disk', until I get home where it 'should' be waiting for me.

Why is nothing ever simple :(

Any chance the post rate setting can be decreased from 30 seconds?

Trivial I know, but annoying when you cant post  :(

If its not too technical, maybe for Knight and above?

Ohh the joys.

last night's task was researching stain removal....

Crayon from LCD tv screen :(

Why oh why arn't there more glass fronted screens  >:(

If you even need to apparently the thing to use is wd40 on a soft cloth.
Did the trick and looks ok afterwards, time will tell if any damage done.
this wasn't a 'bit' of crayon, was the whole screen scribbled over  >:(

Have noticed on many occasions over the last few weeks that despite 'total posts' and 'no of members' not being related, we seem to manage a steady average of 100 posts per person!

I need to get out more  :-[
