Done it many times but cant recall the size (I just bought genuine)

Be very aware that you must hold the crank at the cambelt end when undoing the sprocket retaining bolt

My long bar bolts across two adjacent bolt holes in the pulley, and locks against the water pump. You WON'T do this by hand as the crank bolt is bloody tight.

The bar has another two holes, one of them tapped to draw the pulley off the crank.

I have a drawing with the dimensions if it would help.

thanks but ive already made up my bars.one is a 1 metre extension for the breaker bar/socket. other is a 1 metre bar with a circle welded on to match pulley middle using existing holes.ive no doubt the bars will be strong enough just not sure about socket.!. dont realy fancy the idea of putting all that astrain on thr water pump ,unless of course you are replacing it anyway .mine has been replaced recently anyway.thankyou . can you confirm seal size please ?

I'd love to. But I ordered it from ECP, removed the pulley, checked the new seal was the same size and fitted it. Six quid to create an oil tight V6 - bargain ;D

As long as the locking bar is against something solid on the engine, they'll be long enough. I used a 750mm long breaker bar to loosen mine, which was effective but hard work
