He was the curse of British Leyland and the government of the day.

Along with the management at Longbridge, he contributed heavily to the failure of that part of the British motor industry >:(

Im pretty sure he was a soviet agent, as many in the upper echelons of the Union movement were at that time.
BL never stood a chance of surviving while he was calling strikes almost every week.
The frightening thing is that those who now inhabit the upper echelons of the Labour party are just like him.

Agreed he would call a strike even if the management changed the colour of the toilet paper without consulting the union and would demand a workers vote on the change bog roll colour  >:(

This is why I hate union mentality... and it bothers me greatly that my TUPE consultation process involes Unite on any level.

It is true that unions can become all powerful and lose sight of the people they are there to represent. This is not good.

We should remember though that without the unions the common man would probably still be working 14 hours a day seven days a week for a loaf of stale bread.
