I went to the Eastern European car wash this aft, it was so busy they were queuing down the road. My car is absolutely gleaming......for a fiver. I知 not lazy, I知 just not stupid enough to be out on a cold Saturday afternoon with a bucket and sponge, hoping to get it half as clean as they do.

Did you get a free air freshener as well  ???

I always do at the place I use  :y

They spray strong chemicals all over your paintwork to dissolve the dirt and then blast it off when its done the job. Not good for the paintwork at all.
Anyway, its a long British tradition for a man to wash his car when he has a day off work instead off getting under swmbos feet.  :D
A fiver is almost two pints at my club.  :)

Yep. Strong chemicals was what my car needed today. ;D
I suppose after a good few years it might dull the paintwork, but most of my cars are somebody else痴 problem by then.

That's how cleaning chemicals work!
If the chemicals are washed off properly, then your paint would have to be in really poor condition already for them to cause any real problems.
I'd rather drink the beer while someone else does the scut work of washing the car.

Chuck a couple of buckets full of soapy water over it. Sponge the dirt off.
Do the same with some clean water.
Use some glass cleaner on the windscreen.
Having spent ten minutes doing some real work, it's time for a beer.

Nope. The foundry I worked in closed down 29 years ago, but some of us have kept  workers club attached to it going ever since.  :y
It currently has approx. 50 members, but I'm one of three or four of those left who originally worked there.
I'm one of the youngsters !  :o ;D

Its either the Kosovans or the one bucket method, depending on how warm and dry it is outside.  Obviously, as the neighbours will attest to, it hasn't seen either since the beginning of December ;D

I am trying to find a decent valet bloke so that every 3 or 4 months it can have a proper bit of lovin', but no luck so far :(
