Christmas is now officially over so the crappy and annoying 'Santa smiley' can be put in the loft for another year.

I oppsing hate Christmas as much as the next Scrooge, but you have to recognise that in today's culturally diverse world there are those who enjoy the whole charade! 

It's allegedly only for 12 days so I think we should put up with it.

We took the dog for a walk, then had our lunch (not Christmas lunch), then we took the dog out, then we had our tea (not Christmas dinner), now she’s got Corrie on.

Apart from the Corrie bit , i think you are right. You could have had 5 million calories instead. Smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs with bucks fizz for breakfast, then sherry and mince pies whilst opening present mountain. Then down to man pub forhalf adozen pints and six bags of crisps. Then back for lunch. The main event. Cocktails then prawn cocktail, beef and turkey with all the trimmings. Washed down with a good sauterne .Xmas pud and brandy sauce with a dessert wine. Retire to tv lounge for coffee , brandy and thorntons chocs.  Evening meal. Something light. Pork pies, turkey sandwiches and trifle. Baileys. Then a few pink gins watching a film whilst asleep.

It's only supposed to last twelve days......not 4 months.

I find Christmas much more enjoyable by limiting the lead-in time and the time spent in preparation for Christmas. 10am on the 24th was quite early enough for buying most provisions. Fully stocked and almost deserted stores made it an easy and enjoyable. The normally very busy girls that I know in both Lidl and Adli had time for a quick chat, joke and Merry Christmas on the way round.

And yes, Creme eggs are for sale. Saw the pallets of them in Bookers two weeks ago for the shops to stock up on them

Why is it that at the very time of year that everyone is sat round the TV they put on the shittest programmes and repeats? 

They were repeating stuff last night that they showed last week. Bah!

Mrs TB is normally better organised when it comes to food shopping, but she forgot a few things, so had to pop to one of the 2 supermarkets we have in town on Xmas eve. She chose Tesco because she didn't think Waitrose would sell every thing she needed.  It was rammed. Struggled to park, and was heaving inside.  It was as if Armageddon was coming.


I wonder if the discount supermarkets, of which we don't have any here, were less busy due to people rushing and only wanting to do one shop, and pick one of the big 4 due to better range?
