2.5 V6 CDX oil cooler
« on: 13 February 2018, 19:26:14 »

Hello all I wonder if anybody can tell me how much it is likely to cost to replace the oil cooler on my 2.5 V6 CDX if it was done in a garage Thanks

Depends on the Garage and how much Vaseline they've got left in stock.

Either way Im guessing your better off getting the Parts from Vx and asking someone for paid help on here.  ;)

Changing the cooler is not the worst part ... cleaning the old oil/crap out of the system is the time consuming (and thus expensive at garage rates) part of the job. Last one I did took the best part of a week, doing about 3 coolant flushes with biological washing powder a day !!

Not a job I wish to repeat in a hurry!!

I would guess a garage would charge around £400 for the job including parts, but as mentioned above that's only the start of a lengthy process.

The oil cooler pipes if I recall were a bit "Fiddly", and NOT IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TO BE BENT ! as they get in the way when trying to access.

We had to undo them at the Oil filter end as well just so they had more "Wiggle", but that was fiddly.
