All I know is that it's going up quickly!

I paid 124.9p for DERV at Costco Bristol today. Last week it was 119.9p.

If you take LPG as an example, Birmingham Area has always been the Cheapest for LPG within the UK, closely followed by Leeds and parts of Manchester / Liverpool, having said that East London isnt that far behind and its quiet amazing how East and West London have always had a relative prices difference.

Market demand, too much, not enough, local Competition, Stock Reserves, they all play the part.

Italy last week was 1.55 euro for Derv,petrol was dearer $:-\$

In Gibraltar last Tuesday £0.91p p/l.

Driving around this week, cheapest I've seen is £1.23 p/l the dearest £1.48p/l.Unleaded. on motorway of course. Because it costs more to deliver,

euro 1.25 for diesel and petrol around 1.35 here in Spain.

Interestingly, as I have observed before, it comes down quicker than in the Uk.

Methinks the Conservatives will be having a word in the retailers ears to bring the price down. Last thing needed is inflation at this stage of Brexit.

Was told by a tanker driver a few years ago that how far the filling station was from the refinery/depot made a difference. Was he yanking my chain. $:-\$

Nope as it has to get from the refinery to the tanks...

A truck will be averaging somewhere between 5 and 10 mpg and will typically cost £200k... so it doesn't take a genius to work that out

Only slightly, these mway services obviously don't have any fuel tankers that drive past, or stop, so it's a one off delivery,

And me but maybe they are flush with cash, company car drivers or poor at planning.

Prices usedto be uniform in Spain regardless of where you were but these last few years huge variations have appeared with many “cut price” no frills stations opening up. There are sermarkets offering cheap fuel and further discount if you spend more than £60 in store. Websites showing fuel prices in your locality . Rural stations closing down. Sounds familiar.

That's an old chestnut, they charge because they can,captive audience, the sites used to be owned by the dot(highway's) then the government sold them, and the MSA, bought the land, as did some private equity firms.
