Dishwasher
« on: 15 June 2018, 12:06:46 »

Ok, so my 16 month dishwasher has developed a fault...but its covered with a 5 year warranty...

The low salt led warning doesn't come on when there is low/no salt.

The led works as the led comes on for about 1 sec when you turn the machine on (as do all the other leds)

So repair man arrived this morning and changed the salt dispenser as he decided the sensor inside the dispenser must be knackered.

Still no low salt warning led.....even with no salt in the dispenser.

He has ordered a new pcb for it and is coming back next wednesday to fit it.

Now i dont think its the pcb  :-\ , as said earlier the led comes on for 1 sec when you first turn the machine on.

I would be thinking broken wire somewhere  :-\ .....but hey, im not the expert.

According to the repair agreement, they have until the 29th June to fix it or I can ask for a new machine!

Who thinks they will fix it within the next 14 days  :-\

Moi! Never!  ::)

I suppose the track on the pcb for the sensor in salt dispenser could be burnt out  :-\

With our dishwasher, you check the salt the old fashioned way, using the old mi1 eyeball, seems to work fine.

I can see it now, soon were be plugging in some sort of Bluetooth Code Reader, so we can fix the problems ourselves.

Fault Code FF0204 = Salt Detection Sensor

DIY Fix, Orders a replacement Salt Detection Sensor from EuroDishWasherParts and spends the Weekend trying to fit it..

Real Fix, Put some Salt in the Salt Container

Try living on the North Downs; our water is so hard it could break rocks. I was six before I discovered that soap could make bubbles ;D

Who thinks they will fix it within the next 14 days  :-\

Where did you buy it from and what make? Just out of interest, really..

I had a brand new (two month old) dishwasher replaced when it started flooding the kitchen - repair guy turned up, more or less condemned it and told AO to deliver a new one, and they did, a day later.

I also had to have the repair man out to the built-in double oven recently, four months old and the top oven wouldn't turn on (Hotpoint, this time!); the thermostat had come adrift from the knob apparently.

I had to feel for the repair guys, though - they tell me that they have set times for the job, set times for travel (which don't tend to take traffic into account) and are unpaid for any time outside of that. Hotpoint guy gets 31 minutes to repair a built-in oven, 32 minutes to repair a tumble dryer and 34 minutes for a washing machine. Without my help I doubt he'd have got the oven out and back in within the 31 minutes, let alone repaired the thing, because it's not easy dragging an oven out of the very tight hole - and more or less impossible for one person.

.. and we wonder why service is always shocking. Targets, I'm sure, are half the reason.

And ive just fixed it  ;D

To set the amount of salt it uses, you have to press a combination of buttons on the front of it.

So, thats what i just did......annnnddddd the low salt led came on  ::)

Filled it with salt and the led went out.......

So, now ive got a fully working machine again and a new one on its way to me  ::)

Thankyou for your helpful reply....gratefully appreciated NOT!

Nowhere in it does it state if the salt warning led fails to come on....this is what you have to do!!

Suggest you think before opening your mouth!  >:(
