I'm not being rude! I was at a boot sale this morning and saw this bar-of-soap shaped thing and wondered what it was/did. The vendor had no clue eother, but it was on;ly pennies, so I bought it - the sun must have got to me!
It has a mini USB in put and light up a bit, but that's it: any clues, gents?

When you google it .it comes up as a bluetooth gps receiver whatever that may be ? Never heard of one myself either ?

Ssomeone more up on modern technology may be able to tell you what its for but ive not seen or heard of one. Maybee somethi g to do with a sat nav or something With it saying gps ?

Are you guys thick, or what? The Holox BT541 uses the Skytraq Venus 521 chipset which supports AGPS. Skytraq provide a free AGPS download application for Symbian and Windows. Time to lock, and typical accuracy are very good when AGPS is used (can be a bit tempramental without it). Early firmware versions had problems with track drift (firmware is upgradeable, but difficult to find the latest version). The BT541 has a motion detector (sounds like a ball bearing in a box) that allows the device to go into a low power mode when not moving. This can give a battery life of many days depending on usage.

fortunately, the only computer equipment old enough to hack or communicate with your pc is safely under lock and key at the British Museum, so don't panic

But here are three indispensable, I can't manage without it, uses:

1. Of all the suggestions I've seen so far on here, this is the best one. With your house windows open in the hot weather, use it as a door stop to stop any cooling breeze from slamming a door shut.

2. During the winter plug it into your laptop and the 0.1W of mighty heat will help keep your house as warm as toast.

3. Finally, when you go on long bike ride and get lost in the middle of nowhere, plug it into your laptop, the GPS ~~will show you where you are so you are no longer lost~~ won't work and you will still be lost, but if you keep cycling for long enough, you will eventually reach the sea somewhere as we are an island.
