I do like the wheels and guess they may be an upgrade.

Twenty inches?
I have a real dislike of twin spoke type wheels, such as those on the MFL MV6, or Portfolio XJs.  They are a sod to clean.

tyrewise, pretty much every tyre place will happily match Blackcircles price (fitted price, that is), so I tend to buy locally, telling them the Blackcircles price before they quote.

Its my preference to get a local place to supply and fit, rather than buy mail order, then pay someone to fit, as I've had a few tyre failures, and it takes all the arguments out of the equation.  And unless you can fit yourself, its never more expensive.

Would it be a good idea to periodically inflate/deflate those collapsable spares to keep the rubber supple?  :-\

I had one in the 'boot' of my R Class ..... but never needed it in the almost 7 yrs of ownership & just kept my fingers crossed  ;D

Went away in the new beast for Easter, whist prepping to tow I decided to have a photo shoot ....

Hate to say it , but I "might" have found a better towcar than the Omega, and I thought that was good !!  Behaved impeccably and needed concentration to stay within the speed limits, even with 1700 Kgs on the back !!

Initial fuel costings are surprising, over 360 miles of which 160 were towing, 120 around town/country lanes, and just 80 of solo cruising, its worked out at 17.06 pence / mile, the Omega on LPG over a similar "mixed" trip averaged 17.5 pence /mile. I know it's way to early, and it's just a snapshot but I'm pretty pleased as I expected it to be a fair bit more expensive than LPG :)

Good stuff  :y

Always thought a big 6 pot diesel would tow well, due to huge amounts of torque.

Shocking news just in: Car designed 10 years ago better than car designed 30 years ago.

 :P

* aaronjb goes back to looking at cars designed 20 years ago.. "compromise" ;D

Seriously though, those fuel costs are very good indeed - very impressive with a burger van on the back :y

Now don't go thinking you can achieve that. Our resident chief Pikey is a pensioner you know. And we know how they drive :P

Sorry, best I could do as the tin-tent has no doner cooking facilities ... :), and I thought TB might benefit from a lower calorie version :)
