That looked well nice. Apart from not being a Meega. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Eight grand it went for, not bad.

looks very nice...

I do like the looks of the MG ZT's externally - Loosk great in black, its just the lame interior dash and console design which let it down

Every time I see an MG Rover I think of the Phoenix Four and their 40 million Pound pension pot. I wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole  >:(.

no denying that that represents good value i can't get that association of dowdyness out of my head, hence the reason i wouldn't look at any 90's/00's rover

that and the terrible reliability (i used to work in the workshop for a Rover dealer)

Certainly nothing 'dowdy' about that one, inside or out, but it does seem to be the concensus that they are unreliable, even though I've had three rover/MG's and never been let down.

Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree ;)

Never been a Rover fan.....

I have often been in conversations with people where they have said 'its a shame we no longer have a car industry since Rovers demise'. The bottom line is you look at the quality and performance of the main stream output they were producing and you soon realise why we don't have a car industry any more!

You can sell rubbish for so long but, eventually the public realise and stop buying it.

Trouble is it cost more then pretty much every other car in its class and didn't drive as well (ie Jag, Monaro etc....) plus it was less powerful!

Will give you that!

260 - 280 bhp when the 3.0 omega gets 210ish

Not a lot extra for your extra 1.7 litres....

MGZT 2.5V6 is still faster to 60 than 3.0 MV6, although MV6 has a higher top speed (pretty academic in this country)

In which case the gearing is different and hence the faster acceleration.

Doesn't help economy or sales in Germany......which is a very big market....just another example of Rover missing the target......again....

Plus I suspect its lighter....

Gearing is most definately different. The MG revs at about 3300 at 70mph whereas I think my omega revs at 2800-2900. MG ia actually a bit of a pain to get away in. First gear, boot to the floor and your only doing about 12mph before youve red lined it ;D

But when all is said and done, I dont think either omega or MG would win any prizes against their contemporaries. Neither is a great favorite with many people. Its just a case, with me anyway, of something a bit different. The more people dislike MG, or indeed omega, the more I like them. ;)
