£5000 for a prefacelift???
« on: 12 July 2009, 11:16:46 »

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1999-VAUXHALL-OMEGA-GLS-AUTO-SILVER-REG-NO-MMM-444_W0QQitemZ110413030215QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item19b5212347&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A10%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

Granted it's got a private plate, but can't imagine it'd be worth more than £2000. So he wants £3000 for the car? I couldn't believe the price at first, maybe he meant to put £500 in :)

Looks like he's quite new to Ebay with only 1 purchase in the last 12 months, and that was for 'fancy dress lingerie'...  :D :D

If I thought he could get 5K for a GLS 4 pot with 33K Miles on it, then I wonder what a proper 6 pot with 65K on it is worth. ::)

I have sent him a message asking if the starting price is correct. I have also asked what the reserve is as I didn't notice the "reserve not met" on it the first time!!

I really want to know if the guy is for real or has made a genuine mistake!!!!  :-/

I think the whole eBay ad is deceptive. Untill you read it carefully it appears as though MMM 444 is part of the deal.  >:(
I'm willing to bet it's not a mistake, just a delusional owner!  :y  :y

The only thing I can think of is that the seller has an unsteaddddddy hand and it should be a starting price of £500 not the £5000 as thats just riddiculous.

Here's the reply I got when I asked obout the price;

The value of the car itself is roughly £800, however it is the number plate which hold most value. As we have indicated it can be sold seperately- as its a collectors item.
That sorts it out then? ::) ::) ::)

It doesn't mean anything, but none age related numbers always sell, & depending on what letters/numbers the registrations are means they sell for varying amounts. He might have MMM 444 and she might have MMM 555 etc ....... it means something to some people.  ;)  ;)  ;)  :-?

but his advert makes it sound like he wants 5k JUST for the car and extra for the plate IF the buyer wishes to purchase it.   :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/
