Definitley, but would have to be an MV6 manual estate and not one that needs bucket load of dosh throwing at it as with my current miggie when I bought it.

After selling my GSI Carlton and having my mint condition mk2 Carlton stolen, I'm left with just an mk4 Astra estate. :(

So, I'm looking for a late model 3.2 elite auto in a nice colour, witha light coloured leather interior. One just off lease preferably, with less than 100k and a full vx history.

Buying in the auctions means I can drive it for a year  then sell it in the Auto Trader and get most ,if not all ,of my money back.

Cheap luxury motoring with the capacity to surprise other drivers on the twisty bits-which I love .Fast cornering is the only legal way to get an adrenaline rush when you get to my age ;D

I only drive 6-8k miles a year nowadays ,so fuel costs aren't a massive consideration.Plus I spend two months a year at my daughters house in Los Angeles while you lot are freezing your nuts off here :)

Horrible being retired, dont you think? 8-)

Just did. Swopped my 2.0 auto estate for a 2.5 manual estate - just what i really wanted.  Shame it need a bit of mechanical TLC - multirams not working, front tyres chewed to the wires on very inner edges etc.

Still, when you look at the alternatives - Audi A6, Mondeo etc, they just aren't as nice or good looking (based on a £1K budget)

Unfortuanately due to the constraints of my car allowance, I have to keep a car that's under 5 years old. I don't think I'd be able to procure an Omega to replace 'The Daddy', when the time comes next year tho' otherwise I'd just keep it.

If they'd gotten off their a12ses and actually put a V8 estate model into production there'd be no contest tho'. I'd have to have one, I just would!! I'd even prefer that to a Monaro to be quite frank!!

Nope. Bored with them now. I have had 13 in 6 months. Phew! Keeping the CDX Auto Estate for the wife, getting rid of the W-reg next week. £1200 buy-it-now if anyone wants it.

What next? I fancy something civilised and gentlemanly. So perhaps a Wartburg or even something different like an NSU Ro80.

Back to reality? Probably buy a new Vauxhall, but I don't know which one.
