2002 omega 2.6 v6 auto

Hi i have just got my hands on the above car ,i am having a lot of trouble with it.every time i take it for a run as i slow down i loose all electrics and the cars cuts out.Will restart after5 -10 minutes but may cut out again very quickly. Help please does any one have any ideas as to the fault as i thought that i might be able to get from a to b quickly in this car but the fastest it has been is on a towbar behind an rac van

thanks for the quick reply,do you have any idea about what times to change this and a cost involved would like to travel to the westcountry tomorrow as i didnt make it today.even though i have only had the car for 5 days and despite the trouble with it i do not want to send back to dealer as when it is going i love the thing

Before changing the part, it may be worth connecting up to some diagnostic equipment to see if a fault code is stored.  Part is around £60 and is fairly easy to fit...

As I said, see if you can find someone who can read the fault codes...

Just to add tht I have a 2001 2.6 V6 Auto for the past 5 years and it is a fine car indeed.... suggest you try to hold on to it and get the problem sorted with some help from the wise ones (not me) here.

???? He's loosing all electrics. Would that happen with crank sensor or is it likely to be a bad engine earth?

Don't fancy losing any body parts Mark.  ;)

All i will say is, I agree with you, more accurate information will be required, starting with a list of stored DTC's, if there are any, before a correct diagnosis can be made.

You'll have noticed the 'I bet' is completely missing from this post.  ::)

the garage now seem to think that the fuel injection relay needs to be replaced unfortunately part is not available until monday,will let you know the result

You say you loose ALL ELECTRICS. Is everything dead at this time, no dashboard lights, no radio no door lights etc? And what happens in the 5 to 10 minutes that it won't start, is it the same or does it turn over.

If it really is loosing all electrics you will be replacing everything and still not find the problem.

sorry car is in the garage at present,dont mind at all because it aint costing me a penny still want the problem sorted though.

when it cuts out i loose everything lights radio power steering ect once i turn the key the motor turns over but wont start even though all electrics are working again.like i said then if you give it 5-10minutes it will start again
