Title: Oil in plug "tubes"

When I serviced my 2002 2.2 Omega, I removed the HT bar thing only to discover the tubes down to the sparkplugs were full of oil.
I assumed some clumsy person had spilt the oil when it filling but now after about 1000 miles I removed the HT bar again and yes, full of oil again!
Its running beautifully and not using any oil.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and any ideas where the oil is coming from??

Seconded... Buy genuine Vauxhall and replace ASAP or you'll develop more problems :y :y

Hi 57velox - welcome to the OOF forum with your first post.
It's a known problem with the cam cover gasket, a job I'm just about to do for myself.
I found this maintanence guide on the forum but don't know if it's applicable to your model......

Get it sorted quick or you will fubar your coil pack! The oil will ruin the rubber plug sleeves & cause misfiring. :(

Welcome to the forum
You must clean out all the breathers at the same time or you will blow the new gasket in no time as well  :y

Yeah ... mine were totally blocked when my plug wells were full of oil ... i cleared all mine before doing the gasket and now over a year later not a drop of oil in the plug wells ... quite an easy job to clear them out though ... mine probly due for another clean out now i think of it  :y

Echoing everyone else's sentiments - welcome!! You'll find loads of really useful help here!!  :y :y :y

As for your rocker box gaskets if, as appears to be the norm, it's your breathers that are blocked, a really gentle right foot while waiting to fix them helps stem the flow of oil enormously. The less you press the loud pedal the lower the crankcase pressure buildup so the less oil is pumped out.
