As I understand it[stand to be corrected on this]the X30 would physically fit however there are differences. The X30 has a cable operated accelerator where the Y26 is a "drive by wire" electronic[?] throttle. The Y26 has sepatate coil packs for each bank of cylinders while the X30 has a single coil pack mounted behind the right hand cylinder head[passenger side UK,drivers side on LHD cars]and plug leads to each cylinder so there would be wiring/cabling to take into account.Whether the ECU would remain the same or need to be swapped and whether that would be a case of plug and play I don't know. There may be other stuff I've not mentioned and I'm sure others will be along shortly to correct me if I'm wrong/give other pointers.By the way out of interest why are you wanting to make the swap?

If you swap over all the drive-by-wire ancillaries onto the X30XE and the X30XE is recent enough to have the mounting threads for the DBW coil packs in the heads, then it would probably work. In fact, it's been done before.

Although it would be easier to drop a 3.2 in there.  ;)

Probably be easiest to just put 3.0L cams and divider onto the 2.6,.

The engine wold be to the 2000 year model, I guess it would be like the one I have in everything. I guess could use all my electric part and remap the ECU whith the 3.0 map. The reason of the swap is that the car is a bit lazy at medium speed, and I think the swap will give the extra power it need and this engines are cheap

Thanks, It's what I thought, use the 3.0 block and use my auxiliaries. Can you give me more info?

Fitting the cams, and  dividers from a 3.0L ups bhp to not far from 3.0L, and it will be easier, than an engine swap.  It's a well known performance up grade for the 2.6.

If you enjoy playing with spanners, stick the 2.6 top bits on the 3ltr block.
Also fit the 2.6 exhaust manifolds and a converted pair of 3lt cats if you can find a decent pair  :y

If your. going that route, might as well put x4 g cams in.
