temperature sensor location.

Hi all I have a 1998 Omega Elite with the BMW 2.5 engine, . the temp gauge does not work, I have looked for the sensor on the engine with no luck, can anyone help please, .

According to page 1358 in the P38 Range Rover manual http://www.landroverweb.com/Pdf-files/Manuals/Workshop-Manual-P38-Range-Rover.pdf it is screwed into the cylinder head.
