Omega General Help / rubber pipe behind stereo

Hello
I`m in the middle of installing an aftermarket stereo and noticed a rubber pipe which blew air out when I turned fan on. I tried to find out where it should be coupled up to when the sod came off and now i have no idea where it should go.
Its obviously part of the heater system.
Does anybody know where it should go and couple up to?

Omega General Help / 2.2 dti remap

Hello All
I`m thinking of having my 2.2dti remapped.                                                                                                I would like some input from members who have had this done on the miggy
Recommended companies and approx costs please.
I`m in the northwest
I`m happy with my miggy but would just like a bit more power.
I`ve looked on the net and the increase seems to be around 25bhp which would be great.
I had my MGZt cdti remapped ( extra 30plus bhp )and the results were fantastic apart from the big clouds of thick black smoke from the tailpipe when flooring the pedal.
ps
I know I`ve mentioned bhp and not torque only because I`ve not got  the figures to hand.
 Look forward to hearing peoples views and thoughts on this

Hello All
Well i just couldn`t keep away.
In a moment of madness without test driving it or seeing it in person I`ve just bought a 2.2 dti miggy off the internet.
I`ve had an Elite 3L and a 2.2dti CDX in the past and was very impressed on how comfy they are but because of where i live i needed a fwd car.
It was cheap enough to take a chance on and i`ll use it as a second car .
Can someone please recommend a good code reader?
Years ago a very nice man off this site turned my airbag warning light off with a code reader on his laptop.
I`ve just had a look on bay and there seems to be a few decent ones.

i have a spare icv which i have cleaned with carb cleaner,
 my question do i test it by putting a feed to the terminals? if yes what should happen?

hiya,
as above really, i`m going to change the plugs on my 3L V6, normally i put NGK ones in but i was told GM ones are just as good so can anyone share there views on this . so down to price really .

hello all,
i will be getting my heads skimmed on my 3L V6 soon,
 I`m just wanting to hear views on valve stem seals and would they change them while the heads are off the car? The engine wasnt burning any oil and i`m in the view of if it isnt broke don`t fix it?

hiya,
 i need a aux water  pump for my V6 calibra but they are very few on the ground, i`ve seen some advertised for the omega but i believe theres a couple , can someone advise me if they are all roughly the same ( flow rate and bore size)
my pump is the one that circulates the coolant after the engine as stopped and the fans come on.
hope you all dont mind that i`m asking for help with a calibra and not a omega.
i did own a 3L and a 2.2d omega

 i`m replacing the stat on my V6 and was going to get one off ebay but i just want to ask as anyone got any bad experiences with non genuine GM stats?

Omega General Help / V6 thermostat seal to tube

hiya,
 installed a 3L V6 and have noticed the tube that comes off the thermostat housing is very loose, is it just a case of renewing the O ring seal and bolting it to the head? if so wheres the best place to buy the seal?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / sound distorted

hiya all,
 a couple of times a day the speakers become distorted like they are on full blast ,, i thought it was the stereo unit so i changed it but same prob,, i`ve put the old unit back in,, if i go over a bump or slam the boot it will either get worse or better,, when the sound goes funny i go to select rear speakers and they have gone off,,
 i`m thinking maybe the problem lays with the rears,, before i replace them as anyone encontered this problem before?

 ps its a 96 elite with a muti change cd in boot and the unit is a philips but as i said the problem happened with a new unit also.

Omega General Help / master brake cylinder seals

hiya
as anyone replaced the seals on the master brake cylinder? if so how easy of a job is it ?
anybody know how many different master brake cylinders there are? do some models share the same or does it depend on engine size or year?
i`ve done this job  a few times on older vauxhalls and range rovers and i`m thinking it should be the same.
my car is a 2.2 dti

Omega General Help / heater warm at front very cold at back

hiya, i asked this question last year but never really got it sorted, but its getting very cold now so need to keep my rear passengers warm.
in the front of the car the heater works fine and gets warm but it blows cold air in the rear of the cabin, i remember doing some kind of reset to the heater control but that didn't work.
i`d be thankful with some help it sorting this .

Omega General Help / flat spot missing dti 2.2

hiya,
i asked this question a few months but can`t remember getting  any replies so i`ll try again.
i drive a 2.2 dti 02 and when i coast in any high gear with the revs at just below 2000rpm i get a flat spot or miss when i apply the accelerator, i`ve changed the complete turbo ( only because it was leaking oil and the splines where a little chipped) filters twice and the problem is still there.
can anyone please help with some ideas???

Omega General Help / airbag light

hiya,
 i replaced my front N/S door yesterday, drove the car this morning and the airbag warning light is on, i dont think this is related just asking to see if anybody else as had this happen, i know people dnt change doors that often.
