Headlight Warning Fault
« on: 04 July 2014, 22:35:19 »

Hi Guys,

Have a fault on the TD CDX it has self levellers as no adjuster,

States on the display, Low Beam Fld/Vision?

Guessing its a leveller fault, could I be onto something?

Check arm hasn't popped off level sensors (usual cause).  Its either that, or dodgy level sensor, dodgy levelling motor, or (in my case) a broken wire between sensor and motor ;)

What dbug says.

Usually its the sensor arm on the NSF suspension arm has come adrift. Pop it back on (ball and socket, push fit), if it does it again, probably needs replacement sensor, although some have had luck with cable ties etc

I'm slightly concerned as I have no adjuster on the headlight switch but I've looked front and back for both sensors and I can't see sod all. Did all the self levelling come with 2 or did some come with just 1

Yep, even if they weren't even in the from standard why would I have a warning on the dash?

Ah, so they are a retrofit?

I suspect the idiot who did it did a halfarsed job in that case, Is there an ECU behind the wheelarch liner, OSF

Cdx facelift has xenons as standard :y

Sensors are easy enough to spot... both nearside, front one joins the subframe to the trailing edge of the wishbone just out board of the vertical bush, and rear one joins the crossmember to the trailing arm about three inches inboard of the donut bush :y

Front headlight load sensor...

Rear headlight load sensor...

Neither of which can possibly be confused with the suspension self levelling ecu/sensor...

That cannot be illustrated any more clearly ::)

Hmm. I've found both sensors and the ball is connected on the rear so could the front be faulty?
