I've gone and locked my keys in the car.

This is a nightmare now as I have urgent Doctors appointment to get to.

The car is not dead locked. Please is there anyway to get into the car?

Thanks

I'm after an idler bearing for my sons partners car. Needs to be non plastic but metal. 70mm x 26mm maybe 25mm will be fine and centre hole 17mm.

Anyone know of a place where I can order one of these?

Thanks

General Car Chat / Antifreez coolant question
« on: 24 May 2020, 19:35:25 »
Family cars at the moment are all petrol.

Fiat Seicento 1.1 2002, Omega 2003 2.2, Audi A4 2.0T FSI 2005, Nissan Note 1.6 2006 and a Honda 2009.

Is there one antifreeze/coolant that I can use for all the cars?

I normally go with a 20l container of the GM.

I've noticed that a lot of them are g12 and g13. I've seen some G13 ready mix.

General Car Chat / Gearbox drive shaft and oil seal question
« on: 17 May 2020, 17:09:18 »
My sons Fiat Seicento 2002 has a drive shaft inner oil seal leaking.

The input shaft on the left in the pics is the leaking seal side. Does the shaft where the seal comes in contact need cleaning to smooth it off or does it look OK and just to put back together with a new seal like it is?

Does the shaft retaining clips look how they should?

Ive never done one before so I'm in the dark.

Thanks

General Car Chat / Front and rear shocks question
« on: 05 May 2020, 13:35:48 »
Just bought some KYB Exel-g front and rear shocks for my son's Fiat.

When I press both new rears down to compress them and let them back up one moves slower than the other and doesn't extend as far as the other.

I get similar results with the 2 new front shocks. One moves slower than the other.

Is this normal?

Omega General Help / Radiator part number needed

Radiator part number needed for 2003 Omega 2.2 petrol manual?

Thanks

I looked in maintenance section and it says how to test the fans.

I only have 4 pins in the violet test socket. F1, F2, F3 and F6 in my Desmond 2003. I do not have F4 and F5 in the test socket.

I only have 1 front fan and 1 rear radiator fan.

Ignition off.

F1 turns front and rear radiator fans on low.

F2 turns only the rear fan on high but front fan is not spinning.

Ignition on.

Grounded F1 and F2 terminals and they do nothing. No fans running at all.

If there any owners with a facelift 2.2i, could they check how many test pins they have and could you please test the fans and let me know if they test the same as mine?

Thanks

Omega General Help / I think I have an aircon problem
« on: 16 August 2019, 10:19:29 »
The aircon is nice and cool but if I stop the car with the engine running for a short length of time, the car starts to make a grumbling creaking sound that can also be felt through the car floor. This has been the same since the car was recharged about a year ago after a few months of local driving with no cool air from the aircon.

Is this normal behaviour for aircon to sound?

The other worrying thing that happened in the hotter weather recently was that I could hear the rad/condenser fans surging/switching to high and back to normal speed again and it was repeating this over and over, every couple of seconds or so.

I don't know how long the fans have been doing because I'm never out of the car with the engine left running and I always have the radio on. What could be the problem?

Thanks

Omega General Help / 4 Wheel Alignment settings needed
« on: 28 April 2019, 19:47:18 »
I am just about to book the Omega 2.2i 2003 in for a 4 wheel alignment and would like to take the correct setting with me so I can double check they are correct. I was going to have it done a while back but never got around to it. I have never had one done before.

Has any one got the list or printout of all the correct settings please?

Thanks

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Central door lock actuators
« on: 25 April 2019, 15:58:32 »
I was given a front door lock actuator p/n 90493703 for my 2003 Omega. Are both front door actuators the same p/n or different?

The three pins don't look right to me from memory when I did my drivers door.

Thanks

My Sons partners Nissan Note 2006 manual was in an accident and the alloy HP hose has snapped off at the dryer end right next to the rad. If I get another dryer connection part of the pipe from a scrapper can they be joined together with a compression fitting?

Thanks
