Mot passed again, maintaining its record of having never failed its mot inspection. 19 years old and still going strong.
Advised that the nearside outer rear drive shaft boot is starting to show signs of age, but other than that nowt.
HAPPY DAYS. :y

Drove the Battlebus to the dealer to pick up bits for the Omega that failed its MOT.  Arrived at dealer, he looked sheepish, had a nervous laugh, and said "that's unfortunate, about 30mins ago we put it on the van for delivery to you".

DOH!

Stripped the dead radiator out of the Beemer...

Assuming that you can undo the viscous fan, and have the new radiator in your possession,  I reckon a radiator change could be done inside 45 minutes disconnecting only coolant hoses and using no more than an 8 mm socket, a 32mm spanner and a modest flat bladed screwdriver... 8)

Infuriating as having issues is, the more I work on this car, the more I like the way it's screwed together :y

Sat at a sink spraying carb cleaner in my spare breather box, cleaning out solid oil. The tiny pipe was completely blocked, but so was the large diameter one, too. Clearly the engine I got it off had a hard life or zero maintenance! Mind, looking at the state of it, it seemed to have suffered and oil cooler, timing belt and head gasket failure all at the same time... :D

Oh, the breather box still needs more work inside, gave up after two hours  ;D

Fitted a pair of Lemforder, rear track control arms. Hoping to book it in for 4 wheel alignment in the next few days.
I need to stop spending money on this car, its getting beyond a joke. I do want it just right though.  ::)

Just before midnight, changed the NSR wheel on the side of the M4 - made more complex by the fact we were returning from a week in Wales with 2 kids and a dog!

Just after 3am, noticed more noticeable rattle from NSR driving over bumps... First thought was Exhaust but now suspecting Spring... Haven't had the enthusiasm to look under it yet!

On top of all that, I have a suspicion that the NSR sill is giving way too :'( This car might be going sooner than planned ::)

You know where the arse end of nowhere is then ?  :-\
 ;) :D ;D

I agree tbh. It wont be worth it financially, as I wont get my money back, but worth it in the sense that I will have the car about as good as I can get it, which brings its own satisfaction.  :y

Following a 32hr stint at work, I went over to see chrisgixer to fit a new a new steering idler and TRE to TBE.

Silly, silly me, thinking we'd have it done in an hour ::).  The TRE in particular fought all the way  >:(.  The idler wasn't too bad, but then it had only been on a couple of years (Lemforder shite).

Slept like a baby, so good, I was an hour late for work :o.

Huge thanks, as always, to chrisgixer :y

Re-checked and refilled the ATF on the recently repaired and fitted box on the TD. Changed engine oil and filter, replaced brake fluid. Its amazing how much smoother the gearbox feels now. :y

Deep clean of the interior. Exterior was cleaned last night. Everything shiny as a shiny thing now.  :)
Booked it in for 4 wheel alignment and fitting of front tyres for Tues. afternoon.

Got it tracked after replacing a TRE for MOT.  That'll give me time to look at what else needs replacing before sending it to WIM.

Although I think I need to turn my attention to the original (and still the best I've driven) one, as a decision needs to be made  :'(
