Omega General Help / Re: Starting problem 3.0 v6
« on: 27 March 2022, 08:09:37 »
Well the Omega is booked on wednesday at the mechanic, it took a bit longer to start today in the morning even from cold now.
I checked for the codes and got 12 and 31, which is normal...am I missing something here?

Oh yes...only the best air for her.. ;D ;D
Oh and as I remember, it seemed strange to me, that no fuel came out of both fuel lines that go under plenum, when I disconnected them when doing cambelt job.
Pressure in fuel lines droping after a while?

Omega General Help / Starting problem 3.0 v6

Hi guys, my Omega developed a strange starting problem. It starts ok when cold, it starts ok when hot.
But if I turn off the engine and wait for 30 mins to maybe 2 hours, it just cranks to infinity.
But if I turn the key off and crank it again, it always starts without any problem on second try. Like nothing has happened.
Any ideas, before it lets me down?
Thanks in advance, Stan

Omega General Help / Saloon roof aerial replacement
« on: 17 March 2022, 09:02:42 »
Hy guys, I'm planning to fix some rust issues on my Omega and could also fix roof rust while I'm there. I'd like to get replacement aerial before the job starts.
Does anyone have link or any recomendations for aerial that would fit?
Thanks in advance, Stan

Omega General Help / Re: Coolant transfer pipe o-rings
« on: 21 February 2022, 12:22:33 »
Thanks Robson. I bought a pair of many 36 mm outside diameter o-rings. Hopefully a pair will fit, if not, I can still take a transfer pipe to the shop, to get the right one, when belt job starts

I'm at the hydraulic supplier now...will take a thermostat housing with me as a vague reference for outer diameter and then hopefully get a few different ones. Fingers crossed

Does anyone know the outer diameter ob transfer pipe? It would be easier to get into hydraulics shop with requirements than running around with transfer pipe and thermostat housing and trying to find a match

Hi guys, are those still available? I've been searching all over ebay, found some from Germany - for that price I can get a golden ones.
I went to Opel stealers today and they said the item was unavailable. Does anyone have some spare ones maybe?
Thanks in advance, Stan

No water in them in fact there was no water in plug wells to begin with. No oil either - vectra cam covers doing their job well. I also used a bit of contact cleaner on plugs to get rid of any possible moisture

I removed the foam a long time ago, for that reason exactly. But the dis pack is only a year old. How can it fail in such a short time? The old one had a crack, and the rust was clearly visible. But that one was 20 years old

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Misfire 2.5 V6
« on: 14 August 2021, 10:53:47 »
I took the old girl to car wash other day and ended with misfire. It's obviously a water related misfire, the trick is to find  the culprit :-[
I left omega to stay over night, since I don't drive it so often but the misfire was still there next day. So I took plenum off, made sure all plug leads were dry, used contact spray and the misfire disappeared.
Until the next day.
Work done till now : spark plug leads replaced, dis pack replaced a year ago (original Bosch) everything to no avail.
Spark plugs are next on to do the list....Could water somehow damage relatively new dis pack at the back?
Any help appreciated :-\
