Had a Kenlowe ATF cooler fitted onto my Granada auto when i used to tow my van. Made a hell of a difference as the fluid kept overheating and was like a smokescreen out the back. ;D

If I owned an omega  :o :o :o :o :o....sorry, if I owned an omega, and was going to tow throughout the summer months, I would consider getting an additional gearbox fluid cooler fitted.

3.2 and 2.6 have one. It hangs over the front of the coolant rad.

Even the older cars have a water/ATF cooler fitted to side of the main rad
Yes...I know. But, if I was towing every summer, I would still have an additional one fitted, even if it was just for longevity of the box.

Yeah robson, perhaps the Vx gearbox is better than the Ford. :-\

Perhaps????

It was always a toss up what was going to kill a Granada/Scorpio; rot in the rear bodywork/floor or the weak 4speed auto loosing drive.

The A4LD was always an 80k mile service item... Even with  the twin cam 8v bolted to it. Although on that engine, the head was also an 80k mile service item :-X

Shame, as it was a fundamentally good car :-\
