Ha ha I prefer the term “fitter”  :P 🤣🤣🤣

so did I. But the modern usage has devalued it and many other terms** so I now use mechanic.

For example, the bloke who turns up to tighten a leaking pipe fitting is NOT an engineer.
I'll bet he manages to engineer a big bill.

I’ll tell u a funny story about an “engineer”.

So this odd guy comes in wanting rear brakes on his can’t remember what. “Just to let u know I’m an engineer “. Like why the funk are you telling me this lol (I think it was an “I’m better than you” statement but whatever, I couldn’t give a rats arse 😃).

So I’m working on his NSR brakes and the caliper is seized solid. I pinch the brake hose off and undo the bleeder and try again. Still won’t move a millimetre.

So I call this guy and he’s really not happy 🤣🤣🤣 “have you tried pinching off the hose and braking bleeder loose etc” yes mate I’ve done all that. Do you want a new caliper fitting? No don’t be silly, I’m an engineer, take the caliper off and I’ll come and collect it and repair it.

Fine whatever.

He comes to collect it, reiterates for the third time he’s an engineer and rides his pushbike away with his calliper.

3 hours later. “Yes hello it’s mr engineer can u fit a new caliper for me”.

😬😬😬😬😬🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 bellend.

a new caliper would be cheaper than the £50+ per hour you'd charge him while the car is still on the lift waiting for him to fix the caliper  :y

He should have tried compressed air. It would have either stayed stuck where it was, or punched a piston sized hole in his shed.  ;D

Lol to be fair we should have charged him for the time it was sat on the ramp but we didn’t. I know a lot of places that would have told him to fek orf 🤣🤣🤣

that Bear fella has probably got compressed air on site to put in the round black things  :P

trouble is,if a piston jams skew in the pot or is out of round, due to massive hydraulic forces, even if you refurb the caliper it will go "tits up"  , being an "engineer" ,he'd check all that  :-\
