25 minutes of uninformed clap trap .

almost nothing off an LC lump is directly interchangeable with the omega lump....

(as already mentioned the LC had an entirely different engine management system, not to mention not even being based on the same engine format...    )

what he's discovered is that the omega is quite quick with some fairly long legs.....

and that speedos lie,   unless they're IRC notts calibrated (and still in spec, with no changes to tyre sizes and so on..)

and Josh is pretty much a walking bible on TVP vehicles.....   ;)

i'm one of the two cranky old guys in the balcony.....     (think Chris might be the other one :D  )

AND with windscreen wipers attached...
Oi! I said I was drunk sorry  >:(  ;D ;D

not nearly as drunk as James and Tunnie were  :D

bloody ebay sellers,   ordered (and paid for ) the cam belt kit now 3 times,  from 3 different "sellers" only to have it refunded and a message saying they don't have the part in stock for my car?

these three different companies turn out to be the same place..... (confirmed by message)

but of course, while paypal TAKE your money instantly,   they don;t refund it as quickly....    thru the card system,  so i'm out by about £270 till the refunds go thru...

idiots..

orderpartsby don;t specify the make of the cambelt kit they supply, although they do at least list 2 kits, one before engine number xxxxxx  and another after it....   (mine is the one before )

anyone know if it will be a decent one,??

ordered skf cambelt kit and gates aux belt kit......   can anyone provide a link to the correct O2 sensors ?

almost no other car on the market can take 3.2 metre lengths of timber.....    or my 9ft step ladders,   without needing a roof rack .

or a king size mattress without folding it .

I always wanted a saloon,  but the practicality of the estate is a no brainer ....  when encumbered with large family,  and the need to carry equipment on a regular basis

or the need for a mobile shed.

i'd add that the belt tensioner ,  might or might not be knackered....    but the belt rattles in a bearing-y sort of way....   and slips(screams )  when you put load on via alternator....  and this is a one shot fix session.....    so...  don't want to stick a belt on,  then find the tensioner needs doing..,    i want it to go in sick, and come out fixed, with no question marks.

AND with windscreen wipers attached...

162
O2 sensor,  the sensors are already moved, did that 2-3 years ago...

can;t recall if water pump was done at same time as last cam belt, so figured i'd best get it changed as a matter of course....   as i'm getting the cam belt done...  (although not due for another 4k,  so it COULD wait....   but if there's work going on in there, might as well be thorough....

,  right, so, an SKF camblet kit,  that gates drive belt kit,

i've been using eGay to find decent prices,  but then i usually contact seller direct if they're a "reputable supplier" they nearly always have an external system ...

163
okay,  so an SKF cam belt kit is okay?

jobs...

Drive belt,  and tensioner,  cam belt, water pump,  crank sensor, possibly secondary O2 sensor...    I've already done the HBV

that will do for now....

I'm prepared to buy the lot at TC via Andy,   but,  although he does his best,  if i can save 25% on certain items,  then i need to.....   we have  another house move in the offing,  and i've just had to replace my laptop for work purposes after it had an accident,  .....  (and hi spec mac book pro's are not cheap and do not grow on trees)  so spare money simply does not exist.

i'd quite like to be able to feed the wife and kids this month.

Any other brands that are considered "okay" ???

165
are there any brands that are considered "okay if you must and money is tight" ?

for example.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D3400-DRIVE-FAN-BELT-TENSIONER-KIT-VAUXHALL-OMEGA-3-2-V6-EST-01-04-/370872070806?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AVauxhall%7CModel%3AOmega%7CCars+Type%3A3.2+V6&hash=item5659b2b296

i'm just looking to get the Mv6 fully sorted for the short term.....

so i've spotted cam belt kits,  aux drive belt and tensioner kits...

amongst other things....

one thing i won't skimp on is the crank sensor.....   that story i know too well.....

but money is very very tight.....       so.....
