Any views on the Meriva?
« on: 03 March 2019, 13:00:56 »

A year ago my sister gave her 10 year old Meriva 1.6 manual to her grand-daughter Katya. Yesterday Katya's mother bought a Suzuki Vitara, and is giving her Honda Jazz to Katya. They seem to think the Meriva is very old and should be sold on. I used to service the Meriva and know it well, it seemed a decent car, mileage was 61000. Should I put in a bid for it?

Considering your talent for buying bad examples of common cars, then getting one whose history is known to you is a good idea. If the owners think that a 10 year old car needs replacing, then you should get it cheap.

It's a "fat Corsa" simple to work on
buying a car that you know the history of(being family owned ) and is low mileage would probably be  a wise  move  ;)
ask if it has problems, been serviced, the fan works  ;D etc and give it a good look over  :y

Yesterday I was with Jackie and sister and admiring their new cars (sister has bought a Corsa), but while I was repairing sister's toilet my wife learned that the Meriva has been sold, or part exchanged, for £1000, so that settles that.
