Title: Temperature gauge intermittently not working
Post by: Hiace2222 on 30 April 2018, 17:10:14
Have a 02 3.2 temp gauge seems to work when car is cold once iv been driving a while gauge drops to zero reading g and red water light on , car is 100% was wondering whether it is a fault with dash clocks or temp sensor ?? Anyone came across this ?
That's an unusual condition that would point to 2 separate faults :o

Gauge issues normally spade connector on sensor, or dash not fully seated.

//Edit reason - TB had fat finger trouble!

check the connection to the temp sensor they have a tendency to come lose and give a bad connection.

Gave the top of the Dash a good wack, that sorted mine out for about 2 months before I could be arsed to take the Clocks out and re seat them.  ;D

..and if you do start kicking the crap out of it, order some more dash bulbs as well for when you get round the doing the job properly.  :-[

With palm of hand on rev counter, press firmly and sharply and see if it reseats.  Not so hard as to crack the glass though!
