laptop issue

having had my laptop turned off for a couple of weeks I now have this problem. whatever page I visit it only covers about 3/4 of the screen with the top 1/4 bank except for a box (about 40 mm square ) in the top left with a duplicate image of the page that is on the main screen . could anybody tell me how to get rid of it please.

Difficult to understand what you mean without seeing a Pic of the screen, is it only when using the Browser?, if so probably a Settings issue, if in doubt or your not too techie, do a System Restore, ideally more than 2 weeks ago.
