Omega - Spares or Repair
« on: 03 January 2011, 12:16:14 »

Having to sell my Omega MV6 due to not being able to find work.  1999 3.0 Auto Estate. Taxed until the end of January. Tested until 17th January.

Cambelt done 10000 miles ago. Black leather interior. Four new tyres. Needs crankshaft sensor.  Will need a wheel bearing doing for test. Has a couple of scratches due to vandalism. 150000 miles approx.

£400 or swap for something an unemployed person can afford to run.

Also - as it needs a crank sensor, is it currently a none runner, or just playing up ?

No its not starting at the moment so I'm going to get a new sensor from Vauxhall and have a go at fitting it myself, then get it tested as I think it only needs a wheel bearing, then stick it on ebay.

Sounds like a plan, it will be worth a lot more running and with a years ticket. Crank sensor is a 10 minute job (if you follow the guide) although you will need a female torx bit of the correct size, if you dont already have one. :y

That looks like Elite spec. Its got the Elite grill, and SatNav. But for some reason the alloys have been changed, as they are from the 'Reflection' special addition.

But looking at interior, and fact its wood not carbon. I'd say that was a 3.0 Elite with Sports pack (MV6 seats)

I bought two massive chunky armchairs off ebay a couple of months ago.  Huge they are! I went to collect them in the millennium falcon (that's what i call the mig). The seller said 'they would never fit in there I thought you'd bring a transit'.

They bloody did though!

I thought that as well, but if was an Elite then the sills and lower half of the rear bumper would be body colour, wouldn't they?

Thought it was. Someone has added the Irmsher grille and Elite door cards. The MV6s with leather seats don't have leather door cards - they have cloth ones, so these have been added or it's a "misbuild" - which happens sometimes.

MFL Elite Irmscher grilles have a body coloured border to them that earlier cars don't have.

like this car .......http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1998-VAUXHALL-OMEGA-CDX-V6-AUTO-SILVER-/320639535814?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4aa79b0ac6#ht_1781wt_1139

 ...... and the link is  ::) ::) ::) ::) ;)

I suspect a car before MFL with an Irmscher has had it added at a later date, they're not exactly a new car any more are  they and could very well have been added to over its life.  :y :y
