H TD,

I am only in Gloucester - 20 - 25 minutes away depending on the weight of my shoes.  ;)

What exactly are the savings to be made by using the card, or does the discount vary. Is it basically a discount card when buying from a Vauxhall dealer.

I am still new here and have seen a few mentions of the Trade card, but not really sure of all the benefits.

Thanks.

Dave.

Dave. The benefits are substantial reductions on many of the consumable items.

For example:

4 x 5l semi synth oil is approx £20 on TC.
Retail, you can expect to pay not a lot less for 1 x 5l!

Metal oil filters just over £1 each. £3.50 retail (or £7 in Halfords!).

Self levelling shocks for an elite (each).
£60 on TC, £95 retail.

Cat back exhaust system for V6.
£250 on TC, £340 retail

Crank sensor for V6. £35 on TC, £60 retail.

Also you have the benefit of buying genuine Vx kit (which is excellent) and no quibble guarantees.

Noticed they've put them up to £4 + VAT retail now, and £1.10 + VAT TC. Still cheaper than Halfords.

Vx semi synth in the trade club book is £23.76+vat so bout £28 for 20 litres but still a billy bargain....considering vx dealer charged me £50 a month or so back for 20l at  'trade' price.

And even Halfords own brand semi synth with TC discount is about £13 for 5l

So it will be my 1st purchase with the card coz i aint got any oil left  :)

Hi Dave

As Laidback has said it can make big differences on service parts.....oil being one of them.....some of the bulbs for example are not a bargain if you have a Halfords Trade card.....ie brake light bulbs are £2.70+vat for 10 = about 32p bulb....Halfords with trade card is 40p for 2 bulbs.

But having said that....let me know and other forum members included.....if you need anything....i can look it up...TC price...let you know the price..and if its worth the saving, i'll can get you the bit/bits

Cheers

Does anyone know if TC prices are on the net, and if so how do you access them?
