Ok I have some more info, the volume does not respond at all now and its loud, when turned on it does not display BOSE on the multi display, which as it happens is a 4 line display, does this shed any more light on whether the dealer threw in the wrong h/u ?

Thanks in advance for your patience, I really want to get this sorted as I need to have a working sound system as I am a musician and have to listen to lots of new material to familiarise with and its a great time to do that on the road as I don't get distracted by the usual stuff at home  ::)

.... And fit a loopback connector at the kick panel plug after you have unplugged and ideally removed the Bose loom.

Totally lost me now  ???

It wont play through all of the speakers and the volume changes dramatically with each click of the dial, makes the odd sort of feedback noise now and then so I'm guessing he has messed about with one from another car (as car pass code would suggest) the removable h/u section does not fit properly, wont go back flush with the rest of the surround, just seems to me like its the wrong one.....

So much excellent advice thank you people, anyway I managed to get a gallon in it and it started so I hot-tailed it to Esso and filled it up pronto, so glad it wasn't something sinister being a recent long distance purchase via ebay from an unknown (to me) dealer  :P

Know to sort the Bose out, not coming through all the speakers but sounds pretty good from the ones that are working....

Thanks for the reply guys, it is on pretty level ground so I pray its just low and when I can eventually find the bast**rd filler neck for the fuel can I might just get enough in it to start, I cant believe it has only done 47 miles on £20 even driving round town this seems a bit rich, I did think I could smell fuel around the filler area a few days ago, are they know for leaks around the filler tubes ?

Well its been great for the few days ive used it since new ownership but this morning it will not fire up, starter turns over great with the new battery, the fuel light is flashing and it says 30 miles left, I wonder how accurate this is, anyone else experienced this ?

Just noticed the second hand car dealer has given me the car pass from another vehicle as it states engine type Z22XE, not for my 2.5 Elite, the radio code works so this must prove the CCR 2006 that for some reason he fitted is not for a BOSE equipped Omega Elite such as mine, any more ideas  :o
3rd time now, Bose version of the 2006.
Thanks for youre patience and replies everyone, so the question is does anyone have a BOSE equipped h/u for sale or know how to sort mine out without ripping the whole system out please ?

« on: 19 February 2018, 23:55:36 »
I have a CCR2006 in the recently purchased Omega on a 2000 plate but it is not the original head unit for my car, and having read the BOSE system guide I now think I understand why its making some horrible sounds, according to the write-up the CCR2006 has to be programmed for the BOSE amplifier outputs as it was not the standard choice for the BOSE equipped Omega.....

Can anyone else please confirm ?
Some CCR2006 can be reprogrammed to Bose, most cant.

You'll know if yours is wrong, as a single click of volume knob make a big change in volume

Thanks, as I suspected it is incorrect due to the volume adjust scenario, so which HU should it be then ?
