excellent write up Mark fool proof. on a slightly unrelated topic is it ok to clean the MAF sensor with electrical contact cleaner or will this be followed by a walk down to the motor factors for a shiney new one? just given the amount of oil on the air filter before i re routed  the breather pipe work i cant help thinking it must be covered in a nice haze of magnatec

I find that foam keyboard cleaner works best......any heavy solvent risks damaging the sensor section.
