Rear quarter panel plastic cover
« on: 04 October 2018, 19:08:50 »

Hi folks. Have searched but couldn’t find anything. The plastic cover that hides the join on the d post. I noticed some rust under it and need to examine closer. How does it come off. My 03 has started to develop random rust all over the place. Door edges, sills, sunroof, subframe etc.  Nothing for years and now rust spots. Also paint blisters have appeared on roof bonnet and boot. I have owned it for 9 years and it is parked outside but it is a rural area with little pollution and no salt!  Fortunately silver hamerite is a good match for star silver.
Thought please especially how to remove the cover.

Upper Quarter Moulding, made of ABS.

Either clipped or mastic, but Thatcham Methods Manual gives no further detail :-\

It's clipped, if you peel back the window trim you can unhook it, think there is a centre clip that will pull out as well.
