Just get a decent quality boot and bring it up.  will chuck it on for you.

What little you save with a flexi its not worth bothering with.
Got any spring compressors, as I need to do front spring at same time...

Not knowing how long its been split for, is there a way to tell if CV has survived?  No clicking on full lock, but at ramming speed yesterday, sounded like a speed related wheel bearing type noise, but it was a headwind, and that car does suffer windnoise.

If the cv joint Is gone it will click
