Thermostat?
« on: 29 November 2016, 18:44:40 »

During the warmer weather the temp. gauge on the V70 used to go to about half way and hold there, now the cold weather is here it will if lucky get about quarter way up the gauge[it rises if sat in traffic etc but quickly drops again when on the move]sometimes not even as high as that on motorway or similar.Does this sound like thermostat needs replacing? At least if it does it's a dead easy job on the 5cyl motor, unlike the V6 Omega!

The temp gauge on my Desmond usually sits at 85c but often after a restart it sits at 80c. Have no trouble with hot or cold air flow though. If it,s running ok just leave it but keep a close eye on it. No two cars gauges are exactly the same.
